Simmy - what a great name for an SL cat! :-)

I met Psyra Extraordinare (in bird form) the other day. When he played some bird sound effects my cockatiels started shreiking and whistling to their new "friend" :D

My dog lies under my computer chair without my knowing so when I push it back to stand up (I do once in a while) I crush him. Poor thing.

well at any given time...one of my 8 cats will pester me to death while I'm on SL. Now...that being said...sometimes they gang up on me. I have found myself in the situation of having a cat in my lap, one on each arm of the chair and one on the back of the chair...trying desperately to get "mom's" attention. Hrmmm....

Loki...the smartest grey tabby in the free world would play SL if he just had opposable thumbs. There have been many times in which he has so closely observed the use of a screwdriver, I'm quite sure he is formulating a way to use it.

Woo, fans. ^_^

I need to get more recordings for samples. Not just voices, but aforementioned shrieks and whistles. :D

Say hi to the kids for me. I'm available for babybirdsitting 26 hours a week. ;)

a little addendum to my previous post...

When I obtained my first furry av (white cat), I also acquired the sounds to go with it. The most amusing thing that I can do to my cats while playing SL is make the angry kitty sound. They all perk their ears and slink around, trying to figure out which one of them is having issues. I am mean...I know...but it is quite funny. :o

That is pretty funny, Aradia :)

I'll let you know if I ever get a sound recording of my mini-flock. Vocabulary is limited to "How you doin'?" but they have plenty of shrieks and whistles. Currently think the microphone is A Thing of Evil and want nothing to do with it, so be patient.

I used to have a ferret, and when I would be working on the computer the stupid thing would climb my leg jump on the keyboard run all over the desk knocking as much over as possible especially liquid contrainers and then run out of the room jumping sideways doing it's little grunty ferret laughing squeaks.

I had to laugh when I read this because my black cat (Picasso) watches my husband and I work on the house with such intensity that we frequently are having to move him because he positions himself right in the middle of what we are doing.

One day - a guy came to repair my fridge and after about an hour, he came into my home office and asked me to please remove my cat from the room because Picasso was sitting right in his tool box and black cats creeped him out, particularly this one, who kept watching his every move!

You're correct Issarlk - it's not the Illuminati that cats are working for.

Thats just what they want you to think.

What other creature shows their love by kneading your softest parts with the little paws that seems awful cute and cuddly at first ... but then turn into needles of pain when they really get going?

...And purr extra loud when they do it. A cat is a masochist's best friend.

Neither of my cats pays any attention to what is happening onscreen, but they will come in and demand their fair share of attention when the computer starts cutting into their time.

ALERT ALERT NEWS FLASH NEWS FLASH!!!!!!

OMG... I was playing SL a while ago. Went to a club I never went to before. I just got inside the club and stood there as I went downstairs to get myself a drink. When I got done an went back to the PC, I saw the most amazing thing.......

My pure white cat, fleche ("spot" in german hehehe), was PLAYING SL!!! :0 He was standing on my keyboard (both front paws on my keyboard an both back paws standing on my chair) an had actually: 1) Moved me into the club & 2) SOMEHOW activated my couples dance bracelet!!!!!!! I mean OMG!!! Then when I shooed him off my chair and keyboard, he actually logged me out of the game!!!! That little stinker!!!

I mean Holy Crap Batman!!! When I got back into the game I was relieved to find out my cat had not talked to anyone.... I mean shiesh!!! I have now seen it all.......... I guess given the right circumstances, even a cat can play SL......... Hmmmm.... I wonder what that says about all of us then.......

Ahhh well, it was a hoot to see thats for sure......... P*ssy ROCKS!!!! Ummmm P*ssy-cats too....... I ment P*ssy-cats, I did I did, really I did........... Hehehe........

*Watching Fleche a lot more closely now* :) :) :)

Cats ARE aliens and communicate with the Mothership on a regular basis. He probably had operatives in the club you were in and just wanted to touch base with them. :D

HI

I have a 6 weeks old kitten ( Fraggle ) and she is fascinated by SL , she will sit on my shoulder silent and watching the screen intently whilst I am there even although she doesnt appear interested in other computer software.

But what cracked me up was when someone played a wildcat or lion noise at the edge - she nearly fell off of my shoulder and ran away :-)

yes, borisanne sits in front of the monitor and smacks my avatar, while orkey circles my head on my shoulders, round and round. i dont know why she does this. so if i seem unresponsive, its probably because i cant see thru borisanne and im trying to be real still so orkey doesnt slip off my shoulders and scratch her way all the ay down my back.

Our cat Brodie, upon noticing me on SL, will a) sit on the keyboard, b) nuzzle my mousing-hand all over, or c) chase the mouse pointer around the screen. Usually in that order. :D

it is your cat's paw tatoo???

My pomeranian was sitting on my lap while staring at a couple girls doing that crazy laugh. The one where they drop to the ground and roll around? Her face got so inquizative everytime they did that. It was cute and entertaining :)
