I wonder if any player had the experience of having that happen to them, and then petitioning the Lindens to restore their property. It seems like kind of a big hole in the issue of ownership rights. It seems to mean that if someone only put 512 into the group, they should only be able to sell out the 512 from under the group, not sell out the entire land, even being an officer.

The capability of groups to own land is intended for large cooperative builds, without regard to where the land came from. "Back in the day" when land purchases were cheap, and tier was the over-riding expense, this made a great deal of sense.

The problem is that when land is deeded to a group, there is no record kept of who it previously belonged to. As one amorphous land mass (whether original parcel boundaries are kept or not), it would be impossible to determine which bits could be sold by who. The infrastructure to work that out just doesn't exist. And would it also limit who could terraform which bits? It's an accounting nightmare.

And I know there have been plenty of times a player has contributed land to a group, and then woken up one day to find the group no longer owns any land, an officer has sold it all off. There's pretty much nothing the Lindens can do - after all, the land now belongs to an innocent third party who paid good money for it, and there is no record of which collection of basic 16m2 bits should be "restored" to the aggrieved party. As far as LL is concerned, once you deed land to a group, you are giving up any ownership you had of that land.

I stopped bidding in the auctions when I realized I could not compete with the high rollers. I rarely have more than 10k lindens to my name, and my RL$ budget would not allow me to ever spend more than I am already spending (which I had to cancel accounts on several other things to be able to afford). So I won't bid at the auctions till something changes, because I just honestly don't have a chance in hell of winning any of them. :)

Lordfly I actually have viable data to support my Claim to request a reduction of Tier fees.

And here it is...

#1 currently the Tier system is as such listed below:

$195 for a whole sim 65,536 m2 thats simple enough...however,

$125 for 1/2 a sim or 32,768m2
$75 for 1/4 of a sim or 16,384m2
$40 for 1/8 of a sim or 8,192m2
$25 for 1/16 of a sim or 4,096m2
$15 for 1/32 of a sim or 2048m2
$8 for 1/64 of a sim or 1024m2
and last but not least $5 for 1/128th of a sim or 512m2

So now think about this you say that SL would go broke if they did that.
Read on please.

Full sim or 65,536...same $195 + a $9.95 fee for those not Lifetime members=$204.95

But 1/2 half a sim 65,536=$250 +(2*9.95)=$269.9
or 1/4 of a sim ...um 65,536=$300 +(4*9.95)=$339.8
or 1/8th of a sim...65,536=$320 +(8*9.95)=$399.6
or 1/16th of a sim...65,536=$400+(16*9.95)=$559.2
or 1/32th of a sim...65,536=$480 +(32*9.95)=$798.4
or 1/64th of a sim...65,536=$512+(64*9.95)=$1148.8
or 1/128 of a sim...65,536=$640+(128*9.95)=$1913.6

This is all based off the data they have given us off the website no speculation just strait hard numbers.

The rest is up to you to make a decision on but just that alone opens a whole new world of information for some.
