I am not neglecting a thing because of Second Life. I take it in stride. It's fun to build but I have been a child in the past and played with blocks, and if you really want to do some building, and set of tinkertoys, legos, and an erector set, plus maybe a Dymo drill, will let you make stuff that you can have on display for people who aren't into computers, and it's more intuitive to operate. For computer architecture minus the interaction there are tons of programs vastly better for free or close to it. I don't give a hoot about ingame drama and I don't get caught up in the forums often bitter role playing masquarading as posting.
The technical forums are useful but the general forum is full of people who treat it as a role playing game who seem to assume that others do as well. The bitterness and animosity kind of destroy the general forums usefulness for people who just want to talk pleasantly about the game so one could just as well avoid them altogether. I only saw this post because a friend pointed it out and said I should answer because I was levelheaded about my computer games.
The Second Life virtual world game is cute, but it's not worth getting so involved in it you forget to pay your bills or neglect the ones you love and who depend on you. I would never neglect my children or my pets because of an online game. I don't miss work or show up dysfunctional from lack of sleep because I couldn't tear myself away from a silly game. I mean pretend playground. Artificial flea market. Whatever.

Welp, let's see. Since I began exsisting in Second Life a little over 3 months ago I have not gotten dressed once. So I guess I am neglecting clothing. T-shirt and boxer-briefs for the last 3 months. Sometimes I forget to eat and I have been known to go a *cough* few *cough* days without a shower. It's almost like I need a little green bar to turn red to remind me of these things. I do not sign onto Yahoo or AIM anymore so my real life friends and family think I have died. I have not gone out once since I joined SL. Not that I am missing anything mind you, this is DALLAS after all. And it is safe to say that I have not had sex in the 3 months in SL, either virtually or flesh-ally. <--Made up a word. I tend to go through phases where I just do one thing all the time. I am sure my 12-16 hour a day, 7 day a week SL personal log-a-thons will eventually wain. But until that time...MORE MENTHOL and Tringo!

Just about everything really.... family, pets and housework. I used to skip watching tv too, but then I moved the computer into the living room so I can do both at the same time.

I am neglecting TV, movies and any other passive forms of entertainment that don't involve some degree of interaction and creativity. Second Life has done serious damage to my ablity to sit idle and be entertained. When I am forced to watch TV for any length of time I find myself litterally pulling my hair out.
I just bought a huge HDTV and I have no idea what I am even going to do with it. But now that I think about it ... my video card has an HDMI output ... and my TV has an HDMI input ...
OMFG. BRB.

From: Katt Kongo but then I moved the computer into the living room so I can do both at the same time. Solved my problems too. Turns out I spent too much time watching TV and I'm not really missing anything. But, then, I don't really sleep, ever. And I have been adept at neglecting work for quite some time.
