Now I see why so many people are so loyal, I didn't start till after it got flaky.

From: Yuujo Akebono
If you're gonna take major incetinves away from players you better at least offer decent service or you will see a mass exodus even bigger than the one from THERE.com. SL has been flakey since October and it's down again.

Said what i've been saying and getting flamed for in world. If SL doesn't pay its members to entertain, then SL needs to provide a better framework for new members to get hooked on and currant members to work with.
Even with the crappy updates and me not being able to modify objects I made myself (therefore had to remake one, but wont bother with the others) I was looking for a place to buy land in SL. As it stands now I gave away my 3K in world $L and am waiting for the $L to rise a bit more on GOM before selling off the 50K there. I'll visit SL from time to time to see how friends are doing, and maybe even build and script a bit for fun. I might even log in on a regular basis sometime in the future, but go premium- NO F(edit)G WAY- too many bugs and bad management of the game forbid I invest in SL.
The stipend being reduced isn't that big of a deal. SL should have seen the problem of too many lindens being generated and reduced the welfare along time ago. Its a mistake on SL's end that is now being fixed in a clumsy other end of the spectrum way. The hosting credit is being cut too far. I agree that too many "come and give me dwell" events were getting funding, but again the people approving the funding for the events were pretty much just throwing the $L around. A stricter criteria was defiantly needed for what fits the definition of a "contest." Best Dressed av--ROFL-- give me a break. In all the clothing events I saw, not one was based on most original created by the contestant. Just slap on someone else's clothes and dance, win $250.
IMHO a better solution to the over abundance of $L would be for SL to continue giving out the hosting credit as they are now, only require that funded events (minus educational ones) require an attendance fee. SL has enough data to know the average number of people that attend an event is. Set the total charged fee to be greater than the funding for events.
EI- 25 people on average attend a funded event
$L1000 is given as as the prize re-reimbursement (whatever, calm down its an example)
1000/25= 40, therefore the cost to attend a funded event is $L 50
If 20 or more people attend the the $50/attendee goes directly to Linden Labs., LL pays the host 1K (less than 20 people, no funding) and nothing is added to the economy. OMFG- funded events that don't add L$ to the economy!!! An event that 30 people attend absorbs $L500.
Believe me.... people will only pay to attend an event that they see as worth it (There.com is the example AGAIN.) Event hosts will have to be creative in their events or just host non-funded events.
I believe that charging for attending events has allot better chance of working in SL than it did in There.com. There.com got rid of all of its "free game money" period, requiring that T$ be bought for every thing you do in world. ***That's, believe it or not, is what killed There.com*** not Black Friday. SL seems to be intent on rewarding members who contribute to the community, the trick now is to find a way to absorb at least half the $L in world without totally crashing it. It doesn't matter how much free game money is given out as long as SL has a practical way of reabsorbing it, creating the circulation required for a healthy economy.

Since i'm leaving anyway--- Fipper, your calling all of us who are on the $10 plan leaches in the poker IM is what prompted my "SCREW YOU." You have no idea why anyone might be sticking with that plan. And just for you hon... an attachment showing that that yes I have invested into SL's economy, even though I have the "Life Time Leach Account."
UGGG... i have no idea why i'm so offended by your comment, I mean hell you're Flipper after all. I think that people on the $10 account are just as apt to buy from the 3rd party sights selling $L as the premium members are. Buying $L from other members might even be better for SL than paying LL $10/mo. People making RL currency is a huge incentive for alot of SLers.

I like SL, its just too much of a pain in the ass for me to put any money into right now, and there are other factors involved. If i didn't want to play this game I wouldn't be in the forums posting. When SL finally gets below my frustration level i'll come back and buy land, till then i'll its not worth it to me.

Rafe - I do hope you reconsider and totally ignore the ignorant comments made to you. I have found SL to be great fun, met some great people, learning new skills and generally enjoying my time here.

You can do that too and just don't listen to these people.

If LL didn't want people to have US$10 accounts, they would not provide them. I personally have a premium account but that's my choise.

Think about staying on and mute anyone who is being ridiculous. You can do that on the forums and on the IM system. Hope you will think about it.

I love people who mute you... Because then you can talk all this smack about them that everybody else sees and they don't have a clue as to what is going on. LOL

They think they are so smug and getting back at somebody.. But all they are doing in the end is hurting themselves when they press that mute button..

Alby :-p ROFL
If there ever was a griefer it be you!!!
I'm not so thin skinned that i need to mute Flipper, the above post of mine isn't even a whine toward Flipper's comment, its just letting people know what she said. I mean how many Life Time Leach Accounters hang out with her not knowing she looks down on them ROFL :-p JK people JK.

I'm not by any means leaving because of Flip, my reasons fall in the frustration category, not the OMG a griefer category, lol.
