The fact that I can NOT maintain my existing build with in world money is anything but speculation. It's cold, hard, fact. I'm 800m over my grandfathered land, hence either I have to maintain that with RL money or lindenbucks... which would be over 10,000 lindenbucks a month.

The only way it would be possible would be to inflate the economy dramatically.... assuming I had a shop. This doesn't sound like a good way to do it... since inflation is bad.

If you have 1800sqm you will pay $3 more per month than you do now to play. $18 instead of $15.

And if I'm paying more now than before, I have a bit of trouble believing the official Linden line that 'most of you will be paying less after 1.2 than you are now.'

Add to this the fact that the 'you'll be able to offset costs with lindenbucks' has turned out to be a bait and switch.... and I'm sure you can understand why I'm just a bit annoyed.

I know what you mean Eggy. For the most part these themed groups are the lifeblood of SL, they make the big impressive builds that people see and go "Ooooo" and make them want to participate(well, for the most part). I mean they even use them for marketing, i know they were in Little Tokyo for a few days using our builds to advertise at an anime convention back a few months ago.

But now it seems like they're making things like that harder and harder to accomplish. I'm almost afraid to see what the decision on groups is gonna be. I just hope they realize that with no themed groups there wont be a whole lot left to show to new users...
