It's a bit difficult if you get places like San Marino first, as opposed to, oh, Russia.
Hey, there really is an Italy? |

I got 31/44, but a couple of them were really really close, and just outside the tolerance of the stupid program.
I would have done a LOT better if they'd given me a map with the country outlines and just asked me to click the appropriate country. |

Someone explain to me why Europe is taught as a separate continent from Asia? I mean, I already know that Europeans are too proud to associate themselves with those people, but is there a legitimate reason?

I mean, I already know that Europeans are too proud to associate themselves with those people, but is there a legitimate reason? er....because it IS a seperate continent? ![]() I would imagine the 2 continents were defined by somewhere on the border. kk just googled.... "A continent (Latin continere, "to hold together" is a large continuous mass of land on the planet Earth. Our conceptual division of the world into continents derives from the geographers of Hellenistic Alexandra. Taking Alexandria as a prime meridian, they divided the oikoumene, the habitable earth into a part east of Egypt, or Asia, and a part west of Egypt, which they further divided in two by the Mediterranean, the part north of the Mediterranean being Europe" |

I wonder if Asians consider Europe separate too, or if they think of it as part of Eurasia? Damned Eurocentrists. _____________________

Hmmm I'm guessing it was the way the egyptians viewed it from where they were sitting, with the Black sea and Caspian Sea kinda breaking it up. I dunno *shrugs* You could say that North and South America are one continuous land mass, or Africa, Asia and Europe. |

Actually, America finally separated itself from that dirty other continent by building the Panama Canal. Those other continents are divided by tiny portions of land compared to Europe's connection to Asia. _____________________

i got 37/44 but all but one stinking country i missed were overlapping where they should go. average error distance 53 miles.
apologies to the 5 people who live in San Marino but nobody on earth needs to know where your country is.what was with "Portugal"? everybody knows that's just part of Spain. ![]() _____________________

I'm interested in seeing both your score as well as your average error distance. I got 32/44 but those countries which I missed were horribly placed. 236 miles average error. I put Estonia down by the Czech republic, and Malta very close to Spain. Who cares about either, though?
Oh yeah... I'm an American. |

They could at least ask those little bitty ones after the larger countries are all filled in. Only a small bit of Turkey is in Europe though, as they showed a portion of Russia. |

This is a flawed test. It is a completely Eurocentric map that disproportionately represents the countries in the Northern Hemisphere in a continuing effort to oppress the people of Africa and Asia.
In other words, Europe ain't that big! Kenya is twice the size of Nevada whereas Ireland is half the size of Arkansas. (I find everything is easier for everyone to understand when put in American terms) ![]() This is the real world: ![]() I refuse to acknowledge a test created by THE MAN to further his influence on the world. Oh, and Australia called. They wanted to know who the fuck decided that the Southern Hemisphere was at the bottom of the map and the Northern Hemisphere is at the top? There is no good reason for it and they want a change! _____________________
