My Wish List for 1.3.0

Ok this is probably not the right thread for this but here goes...


#1. Multiple Movment of Items in Inventory. (I.E. being able to select more than one item and move it.

#2. Maniquin Avatars based on current avatar mesh with the ability to put clothes on it for the "Taylor's" of SL

#3. Remote Cam Scripting...I.E. being able to set a remote cam somewhere and view it when not at a location. Would help with events and reducing lag for some players that want to continue working on a project but would love to see an event like a Pic n Pic. <<<also could lead to SL TV...hehe...

#4. Fixed Camera Presets...I.E. if I wanted to have presets for the camera based off of the center of an object I could always refer back and do presets for taking certain pictures like of clothing or....as somepeople would say it would be like a Camera on a tripod that is set in the same place each time that picture would be the same each time even though the subjects change.

#5. Better Focus ablility with the camera with filters. Meaning if i wanted to zoom in on an object an photograph it it would rez quickly and correctly so that the picture could be clean.

#6. Along with the multiple movement option a Rapid dump to Harddrive of all pictures and textures that are able to be done so without having to save each picture individualy so you can clean out your inventory but not loose those precious moments pictures.

#7. Double Layer of Body tatoos meaning some people want "permanent" tatoos but there are some occasions based on apparrel that one needs that additional tattoo layer for jewlery or special tattoos like face painting or that special body look someone wants.

#8. Scripting calls that would allow Scripters to come up with unique animations with avatars for poses and or just general stance arrangements for example. If Joe Bob wante to stand with his arms crossed he would have the ability to script it and make it an Animation based on a conversion process. Yes I know someone would script the bird thats why you leave off the ability to animate fingers persey hehe.

Ok for now thats all I can think of at the moment I will let yall chew on this and if you have more Ideas I would love to hear them if anyone else doesnt....who knows we can make the colition for changes for 1.3.0..LOL

OH, this is just SO unfair!! Why would the maniquins be restricted to people named Taylor? This blatent attempt at favoritism is making me very grumpy!

Nice feature request Shadow... they're all good and I second every one of 'em...

I would like to expand on #2 tho... it would be really nice to have a 'mannequin' that could be used off-world, for fitting. This would reduce the (sometimes high) R&D costs for SL tailors.

I would think it would be fairly easy to make a Java applet on the website that could be used for testing clothing and attachment positioning and such. Since it technically runs the applet on the user's computer, there wouldn't be any server resources consumed to try out different textures and clothing.

Jellin....its a wish list I never said restrict it....geesh.

I agree with all, but I want to be able to give the finger... SL has never restricted us before (mature sims, no restrictions on uploaded graphics, etc.) so why should they restrict our fingers just cuse someone can flip the bird? Its the same thing as if you made a picture of yourself giving the bird and uploaded it, just don't put it in a PG sim and its all fine I want my avatar flipping the bird in mature sims when i want dangit!

I would also like things to be expanded on, inventory, calling cards, and the LSL editor, also a "Save Chat Log", why don't we have this already?

Maybe voice chat would be good too.

Streaming music would be nice.

Hun, I don't believe Shadow meant to restrict the use of maniquins to those who are taylors. This for one would be very hard to do. It would mean forming a Linden sponsored group.

Maniquins would benefit a lot of players in many different ways. The same way a new dance move may benefit "dancers" even if they dont dance professionally.

I think it's a great idea !

But why does anyone's last name enter into it in the first place? Soon we'll be saying only Weavers are allowed to make cloth textures, and only Underhills will be allowed to do terraforming! Lordfly couldn't build anymore, he'd have to restrict himself to making aboriginal musical instruments!

With a last name like Tesla, I can make electrical generators, but how much of a market is there for that in SL? And where does that leave the Picos and Portocarreros and Arbuckles of the world?

I say mannequins should be useable by anyone who wants to work as a dressmaker or tailor...

If someone's eye is near me, I want a green dot on the map. Otherwise it turns into 1980s USSR where you're wondering if the KGB doesn't have secret eyes watching you.

Good point Huns, maybe have it be a, uh... hmm.. red is used for tracking, purples is for events, oranges i for you... a mauve? Dot? With a little thing like how our view shows on the minimap which way we're facing, like that, but it shows which way it is facing with whats in its view, etc. This way you can easily avoid being on camera if you wish

This feature would also lead to another feature in maybe land permissions "Don't Allow Media Points On Property", so you don't have to worry about cameras on your property.

Or maybe even a "Don't Show Me On Camera Ever" in preferences menu which would block your avatar from apearing on cam... maybe fuzzed out like on Cops.

Look it was a wish list...and Taylor is refering to the same thing as a seamstress....IE meaning clothes makers in general but I never meant it to be misconstrued and torn apart and associated with Names. It was never meant as that.

Reference to the camera.....I dont mind if it were to show up on the map and with all the suggestions made. I never meant it to be a spying device anyway...not in the context of how I presented it. I think those additions to it would be great...would also help the "Film Makers" so they could go out and look at the map and plot how they wanted cams in sequence to work when filming.

Reference to the fingers....only said that because I thought someone would balk the other way

....so win some loose some but all the Ideas I had were in a good general advancement of the game as a whole not to be singled out to any one individual or anyone name first or last.

I hope everyone now sees that and can look upon it as an overall advancement for the whole of SL and not for selfish needs of any ONE person or Group of persons.

I think you should look up the biography of your namesake -- there's a whole lot more you can do in-world than just build generators.

I've already read two biographies of Nicola Tesla, I've admired him for a long time (and at the same time realized he was seriously neurotic, bordering on clinically insane). That's why I chose the name. That's also why you'll sometimes see the title "Evil Genius" floating over my head.

And it was, after all, just a joke. (Didn't *anyone* read my post all the way to the end?)

My Wish List:

The ability to "try on" clothing before purchasing...to see how it looks on your AV. This way, you'd also get to see what the contents box really included without having to click and look, or taking it for granted that the photo on the box is actually what is inside.

A "Toggle On" and "Toggle Off" notification folder under Calling Cards. I just can't bring myself to delete any cards, and while I have a "friends" subfolder and "acquaintences" subfolder, I'd like to only be notified of certain people's online/offline status.

with the new skirts available in appearence mode why was there not a "take off" option added with it. I mean come on....I have to go back to the folder in my inventory to find it to remove it or go into appearence.

when i title a picture i want it to populate. I mean I name a photo twice....and it wont copy and paste either ........................grrrrrrrr.


i want my inventory folders to close up like they did before when you closeout

and i thought we were gonna have the ability to have an instant messenger so that ppl in world can instant message the ppl not in world.......or visa versa

Put a "Suggest a Feature" item in the menu above or below the "Report a Bug" item.

I like that suggestion though, LL seems so open to suggestions on the forums, why not add a direct "Suggest Feature" option to the UI?

I'll second this.

It's also makes costs a bit lower for folks developing tatto based avatars, especially ones with tricky patterns (Like stripes)
