I usually play my own stream tho, much like Chronix, but I throw the Magnum PI theme tune in, alongside Knightrider and of course last night, Only Fools and Horses...

sorry to burst in like this...but
If I add a stream to my land.. and then I have 20 people entering my area.. will that be like draining only one stream resoruces from your stream and people just hears the local area music played back by SL..... or each avatar entering an area with a stream creates his own stream-load off a streaming server?
Also these URLs going around... are they public streams.. as in if you have a home party... and your plot is using a stream... is that ok or should you ask permission to the station owner if you can play his stream during an event?
cheers Hokuto

cheers Hokuto 20 people is 20 people... 20 connections to your stream. If you're running it off your PC for your own plot only I wouldn't go publicizing it. hehe. Many of these are public. Some are not. If you lift the URL off someone's land and it isnt obvious whether its a commercial station or something of their own, then yes, I'd ask out of courtesy. They may well be paying for a per-connection fee with a maximum user limit, and it's not very nice if you're leeching.

Yes this is the point... not organised events yet so I need to know the right way to do things So if I set up my land to play 'a stream', it is not like a single stream no matter how many people enter my land... like if that stream was on a single public speaker playing in my area...then guests would simply hear SL playback... Every new visitor adding his presence to my land automatically opens a new stream to the Music URL on my land? ouch!

Tokyo Ninja Radio, which is a rockabilly station, oddly enough, with healthy doses of The Pogues, The Clash, Elvis Costello and neo-swing. http://211.9.44.188:8020

RadioRadio, SL's station with the Stupidest Name!
DJ's Madame Maracas Mizuko Stormwind Roberta Dalek Sangi Phaeton
Format is highly variable, events tend toward danceable, off hours more experimental/trance/ambiant or blue/jazz mixed in with rock, 80's, and R & B.
Boooooger!

The 192.168.x.x IP block is non-routable on the internet, being reserved strictly for internal network usage -- no one can get to it via the internet. Since you don't seem to want to check your router for the actual IP people can find you by, use What Is My Ip? to actually find what your IP is and paste that. Of course, that's also assuming you opened and forwarded that particular port.

As of 5 minutes ago, I'm lovin' wefunkradio.com http://lsac1-0-s05.shoutcast.net:8004(Does anyone know a station that plays pure old school funk - P-Funk, James Brown, etc. etc.? Wefunkradio.com is cool but they throw more modern rap into the mix.)
