I wish everyone would ask themselves one simple question before posting: Will this comment serve some constructive purpose?

The majority of the junk posts would be eliminated, the devisive rhetoric would cease, and most of the forum ills would come to an end.

Threats, insults, arguments, etc don't actually get anywhere. They don't accomplish anything constructive, and none of the parties come to any sort of compromise or agreement. Since arguing is only constructive when the parties can come to some sort of accord, there is no point in continuing to argue.

Let this be my vow to never again enter into destructive or non-constructive arguments.

Ardith, when you wrote that earlier, I thought that sounded very good, good advice for me, for you, for all of us.

Now that I've found your insulting PM in my mailbox - along with one from Stoneself, well I really do give up on you people. Who knew you would go to the trouble to hassle me by P.M. I guess your aggressive overweaning hatred of one individual is so strong that you will never, never allow me to be the reasonable individual in my own right that I am.

And maybe with him banned, you don't have anyone left to send nasty PM's to. Well, don't engage me in it. I approached both of you as a friend, but I haven't been received as one. That is to say, I REPLIED to Ardith as a friend; I never approached him/her; both these people took it upon themselves to PM me; and I treated Stoneself as a friend in the game.

GET THIS AND GET IT STRAIGHT. LEAVE ME ALONE. I want PMs from friends only. Not people posing as friends, to then shoot insults.

P.S. I'm gonna be out of pocket for the next week, so we won't be continuing along these veins.

All that you have done is convinced me further to make sure NONE of my friends ever visits the snake pits of these boards.

P.S. Tell ya what, new players and people to these boards: If there's someone the majority of the posters apparently don't like, whatever you do, do not stick up for them, or you will find yourself called everything in the book, both on the boards and in PM's, including "kool-aid drinker."

You will even be warned that this sort of thing will happen if you continue sticking up for someone they don't like.

I'm sorry if I misunderstood you. As thinking I hadn't been maltreated.

But I don't think I did. You said it wasn't happening. Then you wrote me (after I replied here) that you meant you thought I meant that people who think they own the boards and that I should be here decided to mistreat me for no other reason than that. I wrote back, explaining of course not, it was the combination of me taking up for someone unpopular AND the fact that they think they own the boards and I should be here that led to my maltreatment. Which HAS happened.

No sense in your parsing semantics if what you really meant was that I was not being maltreated by people who think they own the boards and I shouldn't be here. Because I have been. BECAUSE they don't like me sticking up for my friend.

And that, folks, sucks.

This thread was asking a question - how do I do something.

People came and answered that question.

One user decided that it should be about them and turned the thread to that topic - where it is now.

So if anyone laments what this thread has become - then you know where it started..

I think the question was answered and this thread has outlived its usefullness - I hope it gets closed before it sinks further into the quagmire.

Yes, I saw that earier, Lynn. But in any case, I will try in future not to make any more not entirely necessary remarks about where I am coming from vis-a-vis the boards, which then would obviously be open to various remarks on it.

Hopefully by the time I get back to the boards, things will be calmed down, and I will be able to approach them with my normally positive attitude. I will continue to say what I think, when necessary, just not necessarily prattle on about it when not entirely necessary.
