I don't know any minors currently playing Second Life. I'm sure they're there, but I could care less.

I've never met any who have admitted it to me.

I met one once who was stupid enough to admit it in a crowd of stranger. Never saw him again.

I know prolly 4 that I can think of. I've reported more than that for being underage, so it's not that I'm soft on them - just that these are the ones who I think it would be a shame to ban because they're no trouble, and in some cases, very talented.

I do know some that are excellent builders, scripters etc, some of them just annoy fuck outta me, but I just never have reported em, cos I wouldn't want it done to me, even for flying through Morris nakey

I've met a few people I'm suspicious of.

Then again, I've met a few RL adults who think, talk and spell like children, so who knows?

In a previous game I knew of a 14 year old who picked up men in the bar. I did complain to her group leader. However that game was only a teen rated game.

I would report anyone who admitted to me they were a minor, though really the most effective way to stop them from inappropriate behavior online would be LL calling their parents.

What about the ones you knew but are no longer members (at least under that account) because you turned them in?

I know one who is unusually mature and an outstanding contributor to the SL community.

It's not the older minors (16 & 17) I worry about in SL, it's the younger ones whom I think have the most potential for making poor choices and/or being taken advantage of. One SL member told me she was 11 years old almost two years ago. I reported it, but she still plays. She told me she signed up with her parents' knowledge, so hopefully they supervise her SL time somewhat or something, I dunno.

I suppose there's also the possibility that if a player publicly announces that he/she is a minor, she/he is actually some sort of police officer trolling for child molesters... though I bet less of that will happen on the main grid once the teen grid gets into full swing.

In TSO, one of the rules was that if you found someone under age (under 13), you were required to turn them in. Or YOU'D get in trouble.

I assume that's not a rule here.

As a result, I basically didn't mention that I even knew any underage players in TSO.

Here, as in TSO, the minors I become aware of are generally smart enough to come to safe me in the first place, to be friends with, so I know they are keeping themselves safe. Plus they act every bit as good as any other SL citizen. They tend to keep themselves away from the smut with no prodding from anyone else.

Since I tend not to hang around smutty places, I imagine I just don't meet those minors who do frequent those places.

There was one minor I've known since mid-TSO who didn't always act properly; in fact, sometimes he was quite the pain in the butt. I put up with him because I liked him, and when he was good, he was very, very good. Toward the end there, though, he was acting very, very bad - so bad I threatened to report him for his activities. He knew that I could also turn him in for being a minor if I was of a mind to. But that was my ace in the hole, my last resort threat I would turn to only after reporting him for behavior, if that were necessary.

As it turned out, banning him from my land and THREATENING to report him for behavior was enough, because apparently some other people must have gotten him banned before I even got to the point of reporting him even for behavior. Cause he's not around anymore or available in find. (Or he's around in various alts and staying away from me.)

He was an interesting case - sort of Jekyl and Hyde. I'm hoping his good side wins out before he's grown up.

I know only one minor - Hiro Pendragon.

I reported one minor to LL and his acount was subsequently cancelled. Quite frankly, I don't give a damn how great they build or script or behave, they shouldn't be here.
