Gather around, children! Auntie Carolyn's been in the scrumpy again, and is going to tell you all what she's thinking, even though nobody asked! Right now, I have no problems with any individual in SL, or with Linden Labs at all. I'm very lucky. Lots of people have had very bad times with other people on SL, and been cheated, harassed, manipulated, and abused in all sorts of ways. Other people (and some the same people) feel they've been really treated poorly, or deceived, or robbed, or some combination of those by Linden Labs. Now I can't say whether that was true or not, but either way, those players are obviously having a bad time of things. But I've got nothing to complain about. However... it seems that when people *do* have problems, a select few like to post threads all about how they were ripped off or screwed over or taken advantage of. Or how this player or that player or this new rule or this patch is killing Second Life, and the whole of modern civilization with it. Those people drive me bonkers! I mean, of all the ways to deal with a problem, or even just vent about it, a forum thread seems like the most useless method. If/when the day comes that someone ticks me off, or screws me over, or when Linden Labs steals my first born in some auction mix-up, or closes my account because I'm not funny enough (it could happen!), I will not put up a thread about it. I will talk badly about the object of my anger behind their back, warn my friends, maybe hire someone to rough them up. I will email and phone LL every day and yell and scream at them. I might even start stalking! (oh, wait... nevermind.. ) But I don't think I'll start a forum thread. I just don't think it'll serve any purpose. Either people will be mad at me for it, or people will agree with me, and other people will be mad at them, and then it'll get locked, and I'll be mad, and nothing at all will have changed. But I read the "angry" threads. I'm a sucker for it. Like the rest of us. People who post those get *so* much attention. And *I* LOVE attention! So.. I'm still not gonna post a thread when the day comes. But I'm gonna post one now! Here it is. You done reading it? Good. Thanks for paying attention. --Carolyn (The anti-Auntie?)

I agree with you Carolyn - it has taken me a few attempts - a few thread startings and stallings - but I finally think that there really is no end in sight for the potential of some folks to find unhappiness and misery.
I also haven't had anything bad happen to me in SL - so I guess right away I have a hard time relating to the folks with grief in their hearts. So, you won't get any bother from me. I have a feeling though that you will (and have aleady) get it from some others.
WTH is 'scrumpy'??

From: Ursa Falcone WTH is 'scrumpy'?? Aaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! It be zyder... traditional unfiltered farm 'ouse zyder.... And not unfiltered as in not dripped through charcoal for better clarity either... rather unfiltered as in 'they left the lumps in'... Lumps with not only include the expected bits of apple, but often other less expected things like rat corpses, bits of frog, hens and the occasional poacher... Aaaarrrhhhh... a real drink!

OMG scrumpy.... rofl... that brought back a memory of my childhood days. We went to the Cheddar Gorge for a holiday in a caravan, and my Dad partook of a bit too much scrumpy on a visit to a Cider Orchard. My abiding memory is of him lying on the sofa giggling, and my Mother stamping around the caravan in a temper all afternoon because she couldn't get a word of sense out of him. I think I must have been about 10... ahh the good old days.. LOL

Ah - what we call hard cider! Best made from those apples that fell off the trees and layed around for a few days gathering extra protein!
Arrrrhhhhhhhhhh aaarrrrrhhhhhhhhhhhhh me hearties!

*sigh* Okay... I do have things to complain about. I got screwed over by an SL person! Stormy screwed me over by not being around. *pout* And LL screwed me over by not giving me any toes! Otherwise, though, I'm good. And Ursa, scrumpy is *like* hard cider, but not quite. Basically, it's what you get when coal-miners make hard cider. *ducks* --Carolyn (The Auntie who loves the Welsh a lot! Really!)

I could be wrong... but what you call "cider", we call "apple juice" what you call "hard cider", we call "that cheap nasty cider imitation stuff" or sometimes just "cider" you probably have no word for scrumpy, which is likely just as well really... sometimes I wish we didn't either... usually after drinking the stuff...

Scrumpy can be quite dangerous in the UK. I'm trying to remember the finer details of a night in early July after drinking scrumpy with my English grandmother. It still hasn't come back.
I have NOTHING to complain about either.

Surely complaining that there is nothing to complain about is a complaint in and of itself? I mean you really are making something out of nothing here. Bloody drahma queens.
