Damnit! I JUST got back into SL! I haven't had time to see all of Neverland yet, and they're already shutting it down? I haven't even gotten a chance to drag my friend in, who'd LOVE to see it. *sob* Woe is me... woe is me...

I thought it was going to be preserved?

I'm very sorry if it is about to be closed. I would have liked to have made serveral more visits. IMO something which has had so much work put into it deserves to remain for at least a month or two more.

Olde London and Neverland should be made permanent.

I say this for two reasons. They're better than a lot of other, unfortunately permanent, builds, and people actually visit them. I was using Olde London yesterday to take some product photos, and I actually saw people running around the sim in period garb. Presumably roleplaying.

I mean this is a no-brainer. I'm the cynic and even I'm saying they should stay. You be the judge.

If they won't keep them running, I wonder if they'd be able to keep a backup of the London and Neverland sims in their current state, and haul it out from time to time.

Olde London & Neverland closing.......... Very sad if not unexpected. Unfortunatly LL are bound and determined to close the sim's despite the fact that many, many people would love for it to stay around forever (if possable). I even started a petition to keep it around, but allas to no avail. Desire from us all and even possable solutions to keep it a viable Sim is not enough reason's for LL to keep it I guess..........

It's a shame........

I know a couple of weeks back, when someone heard that Neverland would not be around forever, they put up a petition to save it (ah yes, it was Adam's petition). Here is Haney Linden's response to that thread:

I appreciate the discussion here and we will refer to it as we plan future ways to encourage great content. We do plan to keep a copy of Neverland in case it makes sense to bring it back at a later time.

Yeah, and least this will be like a digital form of cryogenic storage (for BUILDINGS, ruining the analogy even more!) and that even though we might not be able to see Neverland, we can be assured that packed away on a hard drive in the Linden Lab vaults, it's there. That would give some comfort to those who are going to miss the dream!
