Do you want Sex removed from Secondlife?

The sad thing was that my first instinct was to vote yes. However, after thinking things through, I came to the following conclusion:

I will never understand Av sex. Nothing about a couple of cleverly posed avs moving in manners that roughly simulate sex interests me. I suppose I am not fully hooked into this "metaverse" of ours to get into the whole digital reproduction groove.

I personally am sick of a sizeable portion, disproportionate even, number of events exploiting sex simply to drive up dwell. It shows a lack of creativity and ingenuity, to have to rely on sex as the draw for one's event. However, sex sells (or draws in this case) so to each their own.

That's the thing though. It all comes down to what YOU want to do with your second life. If you want to walk around in thigh high hooker boot, or dressed up as Big Bird, or still in the basic new player clothing, more powre to you. Who am I to say that you should not be able to do that. If you want to build, or script, or meet with friends, or rent out spaces in a virtual mall, it's your second life. So as much as I personally and not interested in this facet of Second Life, I don't think that you should be restricted from participating in it if you so choose.

Stick to building buddy maybe acting isn't your best fortay, to appreciate drama you have to get into the role. It's something called "Roleplaying" as in Massive Multi Online Roleplay Game. (MMORPG).

Someone who gets the concept of respecting others so that they'll respect you in return. If more people were able to comprehend that simple fact, maybe censorship wouldn't be such a problem in a nation ostensibly (but DEFINITELY not realistically) committed to free expression.

No, I was just explaining; you can look at it in different ways..if you look at it like, these are just Sex Ball aniimations; so what? Then you may get bored with it, if you actually get into a roleplay with a partner with meaningful responses/emotions..then it becomes a bit more interesting.

I personally don't understand how people enjoy all that jerky bouncing around that the sex balls seems to do in SL, they really seem ridiculous.

I don't care what they have in SL because I find you can always walk around the robots.

my dad was into virtual sex long ago, back in the sixties and presumably the 50's before i can remember.

he kept his virtual sex world in his dresser drawer, under some mortgage papers and stuff

they were called Playboy and I think one was called Swank, later there was Penthouse

I loved the Gahan Wilson cartoons in the Playboy and there was some science fiction in there too.

If you remove sex from Second Life, then the quality of person playing will rise. Please, please remove sex, not for the children, but for the actual adults.

Yeah, it's kinda silly, kinda meaningless and really rather laughable in some respects....

and also ... sex is a natural and healthy part of human nature, and playing about in situations you might not be able to in real life is an enjoyable piece of the fantasy in my book....

Second Life wouldn't be a very representative world without any reference to sex would it ? And hey the SL world is easily big enough that if you don't want to see it, then 'avert thine eyes'

Certainly it's more wholesome than all the computer games which thrive on shooting stuff and mindless violence, which, weirdly seems to be more 'socially acceptable' than sex

A persons quality if not determined by their sexual expression. Sexual expression is a part of a person whether of poor character or good.

Simply enough to say if they were to somehow remove sex from Second Life , people will leave second life to go somewhere where the thought police havent taken over.

Money invested in SL will go down, and the business plan will have to change to accomidate considerably less players.

Make a PG server and allow those people offended others are ALLOWED to have cybersex transfer all their Avatars, possesions and land there. Maybe this teen server they speak of, or maybe a third server.

Once the sex goes, who's to say where the line will be redrawn next? Violence? Body piercings? Environmentally unfriendly vehicles? There are plenty of PG sims for those who don't want to be offended.... but no one said you have the right to never be offended. And those offended by sex, need to do some long and hard thinking about how they got onto this planet in the first damn place!
