From: Teeny Leviathan About that dialogue...
I recall way back in the 80's, Lucas let Lawrence Kasdan write the screenplays for Empire, and Jedi (I think, could be wrong about Jedi). He said back then that Kasdan was actually a better writer. I also recall Harrison Ford commenting that some of his lines from ANH were a bit corny.
After seeing the full prequel trilogy, its my opinion that maybe he should have let someone else write the screenplays. Young Anakin's "yippee" says it all. I agree, but I also believe another factor would be direction. George Lucas might be one hell of a producer, but he cannot direct his way out of a paper bag. I mean really... I've seen Natalie Portman act in other movies. She's a hella great actress. But without proper direction, she's a freakin mannequin.

From: Douglas Callahan Nope! Lucas always said that he was going to make nine total, three placed before and three placed after the original. However now he believes that he wants to go out with this one. However, the other three movies' stories are already written and will be made one day, maybe 20 - 30 years from now by a new director I suppose. As for the previews before the movie, War of The Worlds looks sick, and The Da Vince Code, even though it had no footage, was possible one of the best trailors ever made. And of course I'm going to see Fantastic 4, because clobbering time is my time. Back to Star Wars. I don't know about you, but it brought back good childhood memories of me beating my little brother with a stick (supposed to be a lightsaber). The Phantom Menace failed to do this, and I haven't even seen Attack Of The Clones, however I've already seen the new one twice. And yes, I did try repetitively to move somehting with my mind for a few hours Correct. 9 total. Check this out... http://www.starwarssequeltrilogy.com/Episode 7 - The Fallen Hero Episode 8 - The Republic in Crisis Episode 9 - Victory of the Force

From: Spooky Caligari Well, I can say it was the best of the three prequels. It's right below Empire and ANH as my all-time favorite Star Wars movies. Only real complaint would be Natalie Portman's dull under-acting and Ian McDiarmid's hammy over-acting. But Hayden Christenson actually improved from his wooden performance in EpII. And Ewan Macgregor... oh man... he frickin' stole the show with his performance. Sir Alec Guinness would of been proud. His heartbroken/disappointed speech to Anikin on the lava planet brought a tear to my eye. AGREED AGREED AGREED on all points good sir! Well said

Overall I thought it was a fairly good show for sci-fi. It's tough to judge a film too critically when, one - You pretty much aren't in for any real suprises, and two - it's a series I fell in love with when I was like, 7(?); hard to reach back to that lil kid inside and see it from the same eyes. Two emotional parts - (well for the rest of the theater), there was an outburst when Yoda shrugs off the red-robes when he walks into Palpatines office, the other would have been when the now parapalegic Anakin started roasting on the hot coals. Man I would be thinking if I was Obi-wan "dude, just kill him and get it over with". Leaving the show that night I was left with the thought - If I had to start a business in the Galaxy far far away...I would be getting into the prosthetic hand replacement business.

What gets me is the humorlessness of this trilogy as opposed to the original one. Wooden acting aside, I miss the constant banter between Leia, Han, and Luke. That was fun! The characters in the newer series are so stiff and formal, and then when Lucas tried to bring the element of humor in the form of Jar Jar Binks...egad. It's just all so leaden.
Not that I really care. I'm all about Serenity.

Well..I've seen George say, on three seperate interviews over the past couple of months, that this is absolutely THE LAST Star Wars movie. He is going to try his hand at small, offbeat films now.

I've seen most of them in other movies and they were passionate and smooth and great. But when George Lucas directs tham they are wooden and awkward. It just seems like he does the dialogue scenes in one take, no matter how they turn out, and moves on to the next special effects exttravaganza. GL sucks as a director. Ewan McGregor did finally pull off some great acting at the very end, but aside from Yoda and Palpatine, it was about the only good acting in the movie.

Not that I really care. I'm all about Serenity. Oh..that was another irritant in this one. The supposedly humorous "droid" comments. From the first few minutes that was bugging me. Battle droids going, "Ooof!", "Argh!" and "Uugh!" and making wise-ass comments in several scenes. it was fine for C3PO, but for Battle and Super Battle Droids to make inane, silly comments was just dumb...

Its entertainment.. I was entertained and thought they did a great job of following the storyline and filling in the blanks for the masses not quite certain how it all fit together.
I think too many people are overly analytical when the movie is put together as the visionary and creator wanted it and not how they had envisioned it.
All in all I thought it was a great flick and worth the $$ this time and the next at an i-MAX theatre.

Well I enjoyed this movie. I cant say its the best thing I've ever seen, Far from it actually. I enjoyed it more than the other 2 prequils but to me even with the snazzy special effects it doesn't come close to the original 3 movies. Was it a difference in acting quality, Special effects, Dialog? Nope. I saw the first three through a childs eyes so it was just PERFECT.

I do agree that the acting on the lava planet was significantly better than in the rest of the movie. When Anakin said, "You turned her against me", I was like, oh damn. Lucas has announced formally that he will be rereleasing all three prequels in 3D, that might be worth a look. Also, here's a pic of the best scene (you know what comes next ):

I finally got out there to see it. WOW it was cool. The “No” was not bad it was right on for what he thought he had done, have none of you lost loved ones? The battles were a little hard to follow but then again stop and look at modern war films and tell me any of them you can follow. Saving Privet Ryan was really hard and most people loved it because how accrete it was. LotR was also hard. The dialog was just as cheese as the first 3 movies. The stiffness and less fun from this one vs. the first 3 was simple. Jedi were not known to be party animals. The people in the first 3 were not Jedi, ok Luke was sort of but not really. I loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
