What radio stations do you listen to more an SLBased Station or a RLBased Station

Being an online DJ, I always end up asking my self this question "do people really listen to game based radio stations more than they listen to real life based radio stations", and I always end up meetng people whom say that they keep their game based radio stations on all of the time, and other say that they keep their real life based radio stations on all of the time. So my question is for you guys, what do you listen to more, SL Radio or RL Radio?

When I'm in world, I always listen to whatever streaming music is playing. I prefer the live DJs and will often plug in a URL stream to winamp to listen even if I can't be at a particular event.

I rarely listen to RL radio stations since I'm not a fan of poppy music.
I have my land set to a shoutcast station which I also tune into frequently when I'm not in world, and there are a few SL DJs that I tune into regularly while in world. (Miggy, Ullala, Helixx..)

Being an online DJ as well - I can say that YES, many of the people(especially gamers) I know do tune into online stations way more than RL radio.

I certainly listen into SL radio(as well as other game-based stations) more than RL radio, which I don't listen to at all. 'Net radio just seems so much less bloated, at least the stations I listen to do.

I loves the SL radio! RL radio sux, too many commercials ('cept for satalite, I guess) or asshats yakking away about the news or whatnot...

I usually listen to my own winamp while in game

You know, I should have answered my own question - I find it weird because I do DJ for Second Life, but I also dj for another game (nothing like second life) - and find myself flipping through game radio stations and other internet radio station (like Digitally Imported - which I have my land set to right now). Dunnoy, maybe I'm just an oddity.

I listen to Talk Radio during the day..and SL Radio streams in the evening.

Does XM count as 'real' or 'online'?

When I was doing SLive shows I would try and listen to the other DJs as much as possible, but with no involment in that sort of thing anymore I don't really listen to shoutcast stuff much at all.

I love my WeenRadio LIVE. It broadcasts recordings of WEEN concerts. I love WEEN Live! I try to listen to that as much as possible, but I like to check out others streaming music.

I listen to internet radio all day long, and being a DJ I love "sticking it to the man" aka the multimedia magnates like Clearchannel ruling the airwaves. I play what the PEOPLE wanna hear, not what some corporate schmuck with zero taste in music and a fat check from some record company to play the same damn song 50 times a day on 500 stations.

Her show rocks too BTW, and even though she plays mostly to the Anarchy Online crowd, I listen to her in SL when she's on!

Me, too. And in RL, I almost always have National Public Radio playing around home (if the kids aren't watching TV or a movie) or in the car. Yes, it's mostly talk radio. Yes, i'm a big, liberal information geek.

I chose RL radio, but it's not pop-radio. On my land, I stream a local college station. The station is nothing like PBS and nothing like RL radio. They play weird stuff. For example, they played 30-minutes of some CD that was created by sampling dot-matrix printers and making music out of that. And, they have another very long clip that is the result of someone recording their voice in a perfectly square room, then re-recording the sample as it's played into the room over and over. It's weird what that sounds like from about the 10th iteration onward.

I prefer digitalgunfire streams or XTC radio London streams. I never listen to domestic radio broadcasts anymore.

I listen to neither of the two choices while playing SL.

I listen to my own stream usually. It's just a live365 playlist that I relay with shoutcast. When I don't feel like hearing music I stream ambient sounds like rain, or night sounds

More choices would indeed be a good thing. I don't listen to "RL radio", if by this you mean "old-fashioned, 'regular' radio". But when I listen to a station on the net, it's not a "SL" radio, though it's not the same as a "RL radio" either (usually no DJs, for instance Gotham or Mystic radio). So where is this placed?

yes I think a 3rd and 4th category needs to be added to the poll, besides "other" also. INTERNET RADIO, and SATELLITE RADIO.

Sl radio ROCKS!!!

This is me also, allthough since I started playign SL I have a prim on my land that allows me to click through a set list of URL. It will also email me the last URL I set so while at work or any where I can listen to the same thing I am in SL... cheesy, but cool.
