I'm new to SL, but I have played another social online game for over 2 years in which my best friend is a gay man, and I know a number of other gay people. The very idea of segregating gays fills me with horror. None of the gay people I know in this other game want to hang out with gays exclusively and why should they? any more than I want to hang out only with other Brits. The whole POINT of these online games, as I see it, is that people from all over the world, from different backgrounds, races, religions and orientations can mingle freely in a way that is often difficult in rl. I sincerely hope to encounter no homophobia in SL or my stay will be brief.

From: Cristiano Midnight LOL sorry I am tired It's ok. I've never seen Showtime anyway, so your reference to that was lost on me. I do see your point though. I still find the poll insulting. If it was any other group then there'd have been burnings-at-the-stake and bannings by now, regardless of the poster's real intention, which I now realise was honest, if poorly stated.

From: Ahkin Pierce Bannings? Why? Because, regardless of your intentions... questions like that lead to segregation and hate.

I'm going to close this thread, since there is another one started with a poll above.
