Is anyone using SL to test RL building ideas?

Landscaping and garden design struck me... if someone was willing to go to the trouble of making to-scale plants. A lot of work.. you would probably need to have your own incentives to do it, rather than financial ones.

Torley, some months ago someone floated the idea of producing one-off 3-D models of people's SL avatars. These were to be produced from one of these 3-D printers, and if I remember correctly, painted or colored correctly. Several hundred dollars for a mini-Torley, but for some who are very passionate about their SL experience or always wanted to be an action figure, a very cool souvenir.

VERY cool. I wonder who floated that idea? Hmmmmmm... thanks for the info, 'Gienix. :)

I would, but until Sl can help me design things in 9 dimensions I will have to wait.

Blaze calculate a Dimensional exchange to compensate for the cameras of about 1.3875 this increase in size should be enough to accomodate the realism needed for SL.

Ie if its 1 meter make it 1.3875 meters this was a fair balence exchange I figured out during beta and should still hold true today.

Forgive me for being a dunce but are you saying something in SL needs to be larger in the game as in a 1 meter box in reality needs to be 1.3875 meters in the game to be the right scale? Or does it mean a 1 meter box in the game needs to be 1.3875 meters in reality?

If I have this right, a 2 meter tall avatar in the game and I want a 1 meter box to look correct next to my avatar, the box actually needs to be 1.3875 meters square?
