Ulrika or Anshe?

As we have all seen, there are two ladies that basically guarantee a thread to have hundreds of heated and controversial posts. I personally have great personal admiration for both, since they have accomplished much in their respective fields within SL, whether I agree with their views or not.

To that, and all with due respect to them, I would like to know your opinion on which of the these two fine ladies you believe has contributed the most, not only to forum discussions, but to SL in general.

I voted Anshe. She sells land and many people buy from her. However, talk to a lot of people in-world and half of them won't even know who Ulrika is, let alone anything about the N-berg project.

Not, however, that Ulrika has nothing to offer, I think she is a highly intelligent person from her posts, but her ultimate influence, in my opinion, remains to be seen.

I abstain from this vote as more people that have contributed to SL OVerall have packed up and left or are being a hermit in world like me. Anshe and Ulrika are just an nth of the population. I could start spouting names some of you have never heard of but used to be just as popular as Anshe and Ulrika so all in all they have contibuted thier share and like most celebrities they will fade for a new age soon enough.

Nope. Would love to, though. I have been disconnected from my DSL and as a result have been haunting the forums out of withdrawal, but before I had to do this, I did not know that N-berg and Ulrika existed (although I was aware of the fact that some people were making noise about having a government).

But, no matter what she has done with that sim, most people in SL remain unaffected by it.

Both ladies are extremely successful, intelligent, and persistent. Both have contributed much to SL and both serve as terrific role models for us all.

I'd just like to say that this thread is unacceptable. The thread I started in the forum was to address the system, analyzing it numerically not to discuss or humiliate individuals. I even placed a disclaimer in the first post asking for people to not personally attack myself or Anshe.

To see you start a poll such as this is truly disheartening. Your actions, in my opinion are what makes this forum such a hostile and cruel place for individuals to discuss problems which affect us all.

Instead of working together on the analysis of a problem and seeking solutions as a team, you would instead take the attack directly to the individual. These forums can be a place safe for people to post but only until people such as you stop attacking the individual. Shame on you.

I agree with Shadow and have abstained from voting.

I also abstain. I know off-hand of at least one woman who I consider have had a much more positive role in SL - and also know her name will never be a household term. To her, I give her at least one warm thanks.

I agree with Shadow and have abstained. I think that there are SO MANY people that have done wonderful things for SL (Anshe and Ulrika included), beta's like Shadow and many others and newbies like Torley.

The wonder of SL is the sum of it's continuing inovative population.

This has nothing to do with that specific thread. It does have everything to do with constant attacks on people that exercise Capitalism and free enterprise in SL.

As soon as a politician makes public his/her political views, and those political views can affect others, that person gives up their right not to be judged or criticized by others.

Is there a need for me to dig through the threads on how many personal attacks you have launched against people that do not share your radical views?

Were your postings on President Bush or Republicans in these forums not of a personal nature as opposed to simply discussing the politics of the issues?

You are heavily involved in the SL political game and have posted hundreds of messages bombarding us with your political ideas. Politics are a tough game to play if you cannot accept criticism.

You simply cannot expect to be able to say what you want and then attempt to silence discussions when someone opposes your views. You see, that is the difference between Marxism and a Democracy.

I sure don't recall hearing Bush or Kerry complain when the polls were out expressing what was on the people's mind, but I do know what happens when someone speaks against Fidel Castro...

Actually it is really about tact Tito. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. And posting a thread like this is just going to make you look like the bad guy in many people's eyes. There is a way to debate someone's ideas, this unfortunatlly just looks like a petty attack to many people seeing it. Even if that is not the way you intended it to be.

I agree. I hope the point got across.

I will keep watch on all personal attacks on anyone that are based on economic or political beliefs and refer them back to this thread.

As far as I know Dubya isn't a member of these forums or of SL --and if he was he'd be banned as a griefer.

It does not matter to me. No matter who you are, or how good you are, you are always going to look bad in someone's eyes.

I participate in this game not to win popularity contests or to influence other player's lives, but to simply have fun. But I have found out there is a lot more to it than that.

I have asked many times that people should leave RL politics out of SL, and I have been told that if I don't like it, I should not be reading the thread. Well, I guess the same applies here.
