Graffiti On My Building!

There is none! :(

And I want some! :P

I had two ideas when moving into the city sim known as Sistiana, one was a corner meat store, because Oz's Meat just well, too many jokes to pass up, the other idea was a graffiti wall, where anyone could leave a graffiti mark. Well, unfortantly I ran out of prims (yes even with the double prims :P). So I didn't do the graffiti project, however my meat store was providing nothing usefull, so I've switched it.

Currently my plot of land has 70 prims of which are open to the public to use to slap graffiti all over my building. Naturaly some rules do apply, yes I know, graffiti and rules don't really go together, but meh! Below is a copy of the Notecard provided at the building.

Oh on-top of the building theres a giant "Graffiti Info" on the roof, click that for two things, one a notecard as seen below, the other is a "canvas" object you can use if you want (you don't have too) for basicly a guide line. It also has in it a Alpha texture if you don't have one.

There is nothing you have to buy, or pay, or whatever for this, its free and open to anyone who wants to do so. :) Basicly a community project of which I want no profit from.

The building can be found at Sistiana (133, 248).

Note the picture attached, my building is the *only* one doing this, don't graffiti other buildings :P

Community Graffiti Project Details and Rules
-------------------------------------------------

What is it?

Basicly a small project for anyone to come by and be involved in, the basic idea is to allow anyone to leave a mark on the building for a time.

Hows it work?

Simply use your own prim, or the Graffiti canvas given to you by this object, edit it within the rules and leave it on the building. I have 70 prims that are open to the public, after these 70 have been used building will be turned off untill next cleaning which the building will be reopened to public. After about a months time the building will be "cleaned" and all objects will be deleted (DELETED, NOT returned). You are then free to come back and mark the building again.

This process will go on for as long as I care to do it. :P

I suggest using an alpha'd texture for the sides not in use to avoid ugglyness, I supplied one with the Graffiti Canvas if you do not have one.

Note: Due to permissions being wonky the Graffiti canvas object may appear to be No Copy/No Mod but this infact is a lie and is due to the script inside it being of those permissions. :P

Any questions, suggestions, complaints, etc. Direct to Oz Spade.

Credit goes to CrystalShard Foo for scripting.

---

Rules:

- One Object per person.

- Objects must be no bigger than 5.0 on x/z axis and no smaller than 0.5. This is to prevent (hah) griefing (hah). If you have an idea that is bigger than 5.0, contact Oz Spade.

- Do not block doorways/thelaptop/otherinteractiveobjectsiown. :P

- All objects must be phantomed. (they don't *have* to, theres little reason for them to be, or not to be, but it doesn't hurt to turn it on, this is not a strict rule and I generaly won't enforce it unless an issue for some reason appears)

- No objects may be made of light. (this is to prevent lag)

- Only texture animation scripts are allowed, if your object is scripted, but does not animate a texture, it will be deleted. If it is scripted and provides any other annoyance, it will be deleted.

- Nudity must be inside the building only.

- Obey the TOS and CS. Any graffiti saying "Thisperson Smith SUCKS" will be deleted, however you are free to insult me (Oz Spade) as much as you wish. Common curse words are allowed if not reffering to anyone "slut" "fuck you", unless I recieve complaints from a Linden about this.

- Hidden objects will of course be deleted.

- Advertisements are allowed, as long as they obide other rules and are not overly annoying.

Edit: Er forgot the picture, sorry about that.

Turned my land on to Ban Myself.

Banning seems to put ugly red things around everything.

Although I suppose a giant happy face wouldn't be appropriate for banishment.

Holy crap, I've gotta learn how to make virii so I can make everyone who plays SL see Mr. Yuk as their ban picture.

Here's a wonderful thing which Oz and I were talking about for a bit in the wee hours (about 4 or 5 AM PDT), and then I had to go to sleep. But then I wake up and find this, and WOWEEE!!!

Funny anecdote: I had flown past this building in Sistiana a number of times, but never knew it was Oz's until a few days ago, where I recounted my dreamlike state as expressed by this photo:

http://img96.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img96&image=Snapshot_2914.jpg

And a few days later, Oz tells me he's going to be in Sistiana, doing this...

So now, in the present, I'm actively scouting out connections, posting on this thread and reading this, and I realize: I've never tagged a building before. Okay, so here's my chance! Could be a marketing blurb:

EVER WANTED TO TAG A BUILDING? YOU CAN, IN SECOND LIFE.

Thankee Oz for lettin' know, and thanks Crystal for the scripting.

Now let's get graffitizing! :D

Hehe, yeah I've never done anything like that either, always thought about doing in Second Life on random buildings, but didn't think it'd be too welcomed, lol.

So thats part of the reason too! :D

Your welcome :D

And nice work Goshua, theres been some excellent work done on pre-shadowing in SL, with textures and with creating shadows for objects through them. Chip Midnight did some really cool work awhile ago, it was in Freelon for awhile.

My building is still open to Graffiti, still prims left for anyone who wants to add some graffiti. :)
