From: Lance LeFay I'm more pissed off that a land scanner exists in the first place.. See this is the sentiment I don't understand! WHY are you pissed? Because Chance was able to get to public land before you and make a very good profit on it? The land scanner in question does not create a lot of lag. Those accusations against Chance causing Second Life to grind to a halt have been proven wrong with the release of this scanner. So what's left? You don't like him because he was smart enough to come up with this!? |

He placed the scanners on other people's land (i.e. Land he didn't own) without their permission. 2. He abuses the server resources by buying the smallest plot of land, but affects the server 24/7/365 every 16 seconds by reducing available server resources at a disproportionate rate compared to the land he owns (yeah, it's allowed under TOS, yadda yadda yadda). 3. His attitude was "Hell, I can get away with it. Piss off.", not "Oh gee, maybe I could find a way to make my scanners affect the servers less or try to get along with others". |

85 fps is the equivalent of at least 4, if not 8 people.
85/1300 = 6.5% of the server's resources for ONE DAMN OBJECT.
This is not a big impact? Wake up.

Chance's account seems to come and go on a fairly regular basis. I've seen it "return" from the dead three times now in the past couple of months. Maybe it was killed again after he posted the code? Chance is in world, and alive, he did not leave nor get banned.... and so what if he did... Geez... it just doesnt end... everyone so concerened about Chance. |
