So does this mean more people are going to buy my virtual content because it's now cheaper?

"User-created content takes the idea of leveraging player opinions a step further by allowing them to effectively prototype new ideas and features. Developers can then measure which new concepts most improve the products and incorporate them into the game in future patches."

ah if you mean the one that was here? After reading it I realised it was a load of crap, and perhaps an indication I should get to bed soon :)

That hasn't been a used feature since 1.2. I don't think anyone even used it. :)

yeha can't find the page now but it was up...two months ago? I haven't been here very long only a few months so it was still being accepted just not popular. Also kinda interesting everyone says xxx L$ = xxx USD when basicly LL gave the value there. LOL

How do you all think Ginko with their investments are handling this?

As a rough guess, I would say a good 75% minimum of my tenants are premium account holders.

Do you guys see this drop (if sustained) affecting content pricing?

I'm not going to be changing my prices, as I tend to see them as either a long-term investment (custom work) or a significant investment (prefab home).

People will probably try to fiddle with pricing, but if I'm not mistaken, prices have more or less been the same since I started... although some of my competitors... christ, they charge a lot :P

There is a general rule in aquarium keeping that the larger the tank the easier it is to achieve success.

Why do I mention this? Because economies work that way as well. Goldfish and Betas can live in very small bowls because it is very hard to kill goldfish and betas. But whatever your fish of choice, put them in a larger tank, and if they don't die right away, then the rule comes into play that the larger the tank the better. Whatever is wrong, or right about the tank you put your fish in, it STAYS that way longer if the tank is large.

Economies are that way too. Think of the Linden dollar as being a goldfish bowl and the US dollar as being the Atlantic Ocean (or Pacific depending on your coastal preference). Then too, SL itself is a goldfish bowl when compared to the world, or even a good sized city's population.

As the number of SL users grow, and as the total pool of LL dollars grows, the fluctuations will all smooth out. In fact, ultimately the best thing to do will be to dispense with the LL$ concept altogether and just trade in some real-world currency (presumably US dollars). I think we are a long ways from that though (do you want a scripting bug to be able to empty your real world checking account?) but worries about the volatility of LL$s is way premature. OF COURSE they are going to swing wildly and be subject to artificial manipulation. You can say the same thing about some South American currencies. That's life in a small fish tank.
