Hey, just to let y'all know, I did some updating to the SL Wiki, and actually put in a page for external sites and blogs.

I added in the few I knew about, but if you have others, feel free to add them in.

Hell, some of these aren't blogs, and they are blogs at the same time. Like... I'm not sure where to put Cubey Terra's site... it's got a blog format, but it's more of a site filled with advertisements (not that that's a bad thing...).

This is a great thread, Molec, and a great service, but I have to assume it was a mere accidental muscle spasm while your finger was hovering near your delete key that made you leave out the Second Life Herald. Even Hamlet lists the Second Life Herald. We're the Grid's number one source for unbalanced news. We really are. Just ask Torley.

ok, added a bunch of blogspot stuff. They use the /atom.xml convention. If anyone else has an RSS feed to add, please edit the wiki or post it here.

If people could check their blogs for how to enable RSS feed behaviour, that would be very cool.

Siobhan, an RSS feed is an xml file which automatically updates your latest posting. This way, when you post we are automatically alerted and we can read it from "aggregators" rather than having to visit each blog individually.

This is useful, as I have over a 100 blogs on my list and having to visit each website every 15 minutes to check them would be impossible, which is what my aggregator does for me.

This basically means I don't read blogs that don't have rss feeds. Fortunately, pretty much all do..

Would personally suggest a link to Bloglines there. You can even generate a link tag that goes straight to 'subscribe with Bloglines'. But anyhow, since Bloglines is web-based it offers many many advantages over a desktop reader in that your content is always up to date on what you've read across multiple computers, as well as reducing load on the sites since every single reader isn't hitting the site every half hour or so. (Aggregated polling)
