My fave games... hmm....
Trampoline Joust -- get 2 angled trampolines that bounce you back and forth across a sim and try hitting each other with lowpowered pushguns. Game is over when you're both airsick.
Avatar Magnetball -- rez 20 - 50 avatar magnets and shout them to simulataneoulsly pull at a single avatar -- rez a goal at either end of the sim to see if they get flung into it.
Cowbomb -- Drop physical exploding cows on your friends until the sim crashes.
RockMonster (my oldest and personal favorite) attach landscaping rocks to every attach point of your avatar and sit very still, pretending to be a geographical feature in Ahern. When someone steps on you do the dance animation of your choice and play lots of munching and crunching sounds as the person is enveloped by moving rocks.
Shopping Cart Races - rez a giant ramp as high as you can (300+ meters works really well) - make physical shopping carts and race them down them.. score on stability and artistic merit of the crash at the end. If shopping carts aren't your thing - you can substitute toilets.
None of the games above have an official score - or even rules - but they are hella fun.
Siggy.

First game? I"m guessing it was the Giant Dice or the Shooting Gallery, if you consider those games. But the first game I ever tried was the Boardwalk Mini-Golf.
Being something of a gambler, I'm partial to casino games. Captions and trivia are also great fun.

From: MrsJakal Suavage Neo-Realms provides one of the best games (IMO) in SL. You earn xp points with every successful catch to raise the level of your fishing rod. You can earn reward points to redeem for prizes. Also about 2 to 3 times a week there are fishing tourneys, if you place in the top 3, you will win L$ and a primapon. What's a primapon? hehe go to Neo-Realms to find out. If you win first place you get a fishing trophy. Also, seperate cash prize for Best Catch. There are over 30+ different prim fish you can catch and you get to keep them. I can't say enough about this game but it is very addicting and has a few more features than I have mentioned. Huggerz, MJ I'll second that vote! Fishing is awesome! We had so much fun at the tournament we went to.

Siggy. Seeing games and ideas like these are the very thing that hold my interest in SL. I am particularly fond of the Rock Monster as well.

Payment Podium
02-09-2005 12:19
About a month ago, we tried an experiment at the Shelter called "Payment Podium". Its based upon Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, however with its own twists & such. It's been a constant work in progress, and we've been working on giving more and more of that "Game Show" feel to it - complete with a studio audience, an entertaining host, even credits after the show is over. (We're still working on the Rice-a-Roni & Turtle Wax as parting gifts) The event has been a blast to have.... I've been finding myself eagerly looking forward to the next day we do it when its over.... I wish we had the time & energy to do it every night If anyone wants to check it out, its every Sunday/Tuesday/Thursday @ 7pm at the Shelter. Travis

From: FlipperPA Peregrine I did a SLoccer game at one point... perhaps I should put it out again. Basically, it was 400 meters high in the sky, so everyone could fly, but be on a level surface. It featured a physics enabled sphere as a ball which was 2 meters in diameter. Two teams of three of four each would fly around trying to get a ball into the hole at the ends of the field.
Silly fun!

Mahjong, Chess, Captions, Whack a Weasal (or whatever it's called on Spittonie), Primtionary, Blackjack and Truth or Dare.
I've yet to play Tringo, but Tetris and Bingo are not my cup of tea (although I did get hooked on Prim Attack for a short while).

I made a SL version of a 'mastermind' style rl logic game called 'zendo' its basically passive, in that its just players manipulating pieces to be judged by a game-master, but it can be pretty darn addictive if you get a couple of people together. Sets to play (along with rules) can be had for free in southeast perry (along with a decent 'playing field' i cobbled together. details on the game itself, and much credit kudos go to looney labs at http://wunderland.com/icehouse/Zendo/index.html

Arrg! There are so many great-sounding games I've never even heard of! Quick, someone set up a wiki and lets have a great list of these games with reviews and stuff. ... hmm it's probably about time I own a domain and set some rubbish up.. But, someone else ( ) ..how about a site with games, divided by categories, with reviews and comments and stuff.. and links to their in-world sites along with links to forums, pages etc. Really, this would be most useful. There's too much good stuff in SL.. and it's hard to find. We need a Google for SL. Actually, what we need is Google Directory for SL.
