WOW is live today and we had such a good group in COH I wanted to see who will be playing and if you plan to be horde or alliance.

I have mine but won't have time to start playing it today - plus I generally hate launch days in online games - I imagine this one will be insane. I am going to post a server/character name guide on SLUniverse like I did for COH so that people can keep track of who is where more easily, since a lot of people will be checking out WoW as a side diversion

I'm going to install it, but probably won't try to play it until at least tommorow afternoon. In my expeience MMORPGs the first day are usually the worst day to start.

I'm on Silver Hand server (Pacific, RP) as Freyalise, Cienna (suprise) and Rhie. Concentrating on Freyalise, my NE priestess. Should be there regularly unless my guild decides they want to be someplace else.

Why oh why did it have to come out now? I'll be out of town tomorrow night until Sunday night. No time to play until Monday. I've been waiting for this game for YEARS, since the day it was anounced and now that it's arrived i have to wait yet again. It's a cruel, cruel world.
Anyway, I'll be playing. I think a colony of SL'ers in WOW would be great. _____________________

I've got it installed and have already opened an account, but I'll probably wait a few days to try and play it because of the message I found in the Official WOW froums:

Please Select Mountain or Pacific Realms | 11/23/2004 5:41:09 PM PST Due to excitement about the release of World of Warcraft, numerous players are moving onto the game realms at the same time. Right now, the realms listed in the Eastern and Central tabs of the Change Realm screen have large populations. To balance realm populations, we ask that players select realms listed in the Mountain and Pacific tabs when choosing where to play. This will not result in lag, and it will be less likely that there will be a queue to join these realms, as they’re currently less full than those listed in the Eastern and Central tabs. The number of players that can populate a realm simultaneously will increase in the next few weeks. Until we remove this message, please help us balance realm populations and avoid queues by selecting a realm listed in either the Mountain or Pacific tabs. - Caydiem - Assistant Community Manager -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Looks like they didn't anticipate this problem ahead of time. I am not really into playing horde but petey was the only one to say where he was and alas, he wasn't on, I did run the character up to 5th in 2hrs though, woot! _____________________

I had no problems getting onto the servers. I only had to wait in que once and it was for a total of 1 minute. I only experienced lag once.

I'd rather have the queues than the debilitating lag of open beta. 15 minute wait when looting items was not fun at all, no sir. I got Freyalise to level 10 last night hurrah.
