So obviously I thought it was worth $1600 to avoid the potential grief of someone else buying that land. But L$100/m is so far about prevailing market rates that it's criminal (or should be). You shouldn't complain either. You clearly have other priorities than having people like you, so don't complain or be surprised when we don't. You can have things your way and piss off the world, or you can get along with people and enjoy the benefits that brings. Take your pick, but don't expect to have things both ways.
