Prokofy is harmless. The FIC will remain in control. A new generation of feted is in training as we speak. Our hegemony will be preserved.

OK, I'm not sure I get the point here. I read the story and I kept thinking the real problem the person walking into the bar faces is that he's unwilling to grant human beingness and respect to anyone except the poet. This is why he keeps having to fight.

and sometimes... I bet... some of the clean people drop by to see just how dirty the other guy is getting trying to clean up the morons. Not just to see the poet anymore. So, there is an element here of responsibility for the others as well.

In any case it reminds me of a song... very old I am sure - sing it out!

One evening in October, when I was one-third sober,
An' taking home a ‘load' with manly pride;
My poor feet began to stutter, so I lay down in the gutter,
And a pig came up an' lay down by my side;

Then we sang ‘It's all fair weather when good fellows get together,'
Till a lady passing by was heard to say:
‘You can tell a man who "boozes" by the company he chooses'
And the pig got up and slowly walked away.
