So... is there any reason to care about this at all?  Yes. Seperate grid. Yes, no interaction. Yes, reason to be worried. Because knowing kids - at least all the ones I do know - they'll just be encouraged to move on to the 'real thing'. I can virtually guarantee you that many won't be satisfied with the teen grid and we WILL see a surge in minors on the main grid, and in griefing and the like. |

So... is there any reason to care about this at all? In 1.5, Linden Lab added the following feature: "Second Life now features the ability to have residents which are limited to a particular estate." I suspect that the grid won't be totally seperate but that, by using this feature, they'll limit access and visibility accordingly between the two - I said so at the time 1.5 was released(there's a thread somewhere I started). This could also explain why there aren't lots of job openings for Liasons on the Linden Lab site - it would enable Liasons to give support to either grid when they're online. One interesting thing about the above "feature" introduced in 1.5 is that, as a private sim owner (which are also called estates) I've never come across the option for this - presumably it has to be something that happens at sign-up time....ah.... There's one huge problem with this though. With Linden Lab's track record of borking things with updates, if this is the way they're going to do it, expect an update to break it and all hell to break loose. |

The nature of kids dictates that they are NOT going to be satisfied with the kiddie grid for long once they get a taste for it, they're gonna realise the potential that the main grid offers so much more. Especially the older ones who are thinking 'well, I'm only a year too young', why should I play in this 'watered down' version? This is undoubtedly going to cause a problem with proportionally more underage people trying to get on the main grid, and we're going to have to deal with and probably suffer longterm the consequences because LL simply doesn't have the resources to deal with the problem. |

How will kids get on our grid?? You have to use a credit card to sign up to SL which means you have to be 18 (or it does in the uk anyway)

Teens use their mommies or daddies VISA card...
And if teens show daddy or mommy this site , daddy or mommy won't see anything wrong with their teen to play this game.
Linden Lab should warn the mother and the dad's out there with their teens playing on their visa that SL contains A LOT of sex and very little fashion , design , scripting building.
