Ok now I'm (more) confused.
If i sell you a widget that's no-mod/no-copy but resaleable, and you sell it do I:
1. Get the money from "your" sale, and credit for the object sold. ..or.. 2. You get the money from selling the object.
My underlaying concern isn't money, it's credit and protecting what I sell. I want people to shop from my shop (and my friend's shops that might stock my goods with my permission).
On a side note, I agree that things left to rot in public need to poof.
I'd also say, from what Huns brought up, that no one can release anything they didn't create. They release other stuff, it poofs.
This definitely isn't an easy topic. Making protections that are easy to understand and use has so far been quite confusing. But it's obviously an issue and hopefully will get some attention and modifications to the code to make it secure and as simplistic to use as possible.

Please forgive me, I can be a little slow on the uptake sometimes. I still do not get why no-copy and no-transfer can't be done simultaneously.

From my standpoint, I really don't care if someone doesn't want a shirt I created anymore and they give it to a friend. It's theirs. I also don't care if they sell it at the same, or less than they paid for it. I do have a problem if they mark it up and/or claim it as theirs. It makes me squick. It feels like someone else is making money off my work. I put a lot of work into my stuff, and the majority of them are original designs created from scratch or cloth swatches. I just plain don't like the idea of other people making money off my work. That's why I'd want some other option that won't allow people to resell for more than they paid for.
I have no problem with people getting close to, or all of their money back if they no longer want something of mine. But I don't feel right about them making money off my hours of work. I believe as a creator, it should be within my abilities to somehow prevent that from happening. As people said, this isn't RL. We're selling ideas in virtual currency, not solid objects for real life money.
And after all, if we are comparing it to real life...who ever gets more than they paid for when they sell something they bought at say, a mall? Unless SL gets an 'antique' function where things become collector's items. Hehe. ||SetAntique

From: someone Originally posted by Ama Omega I thought if you set an object to Copy, No-Mod, No transfer then they could make all the copies they want but they can't give em away or sell em or mod the original. Is that not the case? That's right, if you're referring to my post just above, the item was COPY, no-mod/no-transfer. The script, in the object's contents, was Transferable.
