Male models??

Ok...I'm gonna throw this out there... I make shapes...started out with females and just started doing males. My dilemma is that i don't want to spend crazy L's on skins to model the guys and the freebie skins are all the same. So.... I'm looking for guys who have good skin/hair to model the new shapes as I make them. Right now i have 4 done, and I used demo skins for the signs....but it looks yucky, so I'd like to get 4 guys to model them. Obviously...if someone models a shape...they can just keep it. Beyond that, i don't care if ya use it or not. If anyone's interested....give me a yell.

Ha ha good luck Milla, I've been looking for male models for ages. None of the guys that I know are willing to stand around getting their pictures taken. I hate doing it, but I end up using a male alt for my poses, which means I've got like 4 males skins that I paid big bucks for and that I only use like once a month, if that. Sucks balls, if you ask me.

I've been toutin myself as a wanna be male model. My skin was definatly not free lol.

I've done some modelling of tattoos, for a friend, free.

IM me in world if you want some pics. I'll do it more for the hell of it than anything, but a certain consideration would be nice

The best male skin I've ever seen in SL is a full-perm freebie that you see everywhere. You'll recognize him by his olive complexion, nice short haircut already painted on him, a small amount of facial hair, and a little mole on his right shoulder (i'm serious -- look for it when you meet a shirtless guy!). I also have seen it for sale for as high as 1100 L. I bought it for 10L. I can send it to you if you want it. I was thinking of possibly selling a shape or two also, and was going to give the skin away with it, or just sell it as a "hot guy" avatar.

I hate to think, but suspect it was somehow originally stolen from someone very talented. Even his feet look perfect. (I know several very well-known and expensive skin designers who seem to think that duck flippers are acceptable.)

P.S. Sorry, I missed the part where you said the freebie skins are all the same -- so maybe you already have him. But of all the skins I shopped for, I never saw an expensive one that could begin to compare to that freebie.

Just a random thought, but if you still need some male models (really if anyone does) get in touch with Alinarae Inc. Its a fair size modeling agency that has a fair number of models both male and female.

@Avion: can you shoot me a copy of that skin? I do ad photography for a store, and occasionally would like to have a guy in the shot. Easiest just to use an alt, but I have no male skins worth the pixels

Yes, Pelthar, that's him, right down to the mole. That's a shame if it was hacked or stolen, while the poorer duck-flipper feet skins are making money.

Oh, Avion, i would really like a skin like that....i'm talking some with a really nice guy, but he has absolutely no facial definition...no shades or anything. I could pass it on to him the next time.

About that the skin is stolen....it's a shame, but can i do something about it? Like donations, to the creator or is there someone better suggestion?

It's in the public domain now, that's how badly copyright protection is in SL, non-existent. The skin is available in many places, those who are selling the skin are truly stealing. Better for it to get diluted with it being passed on for free, particularly if it improves the look of some of the avs out there.

I have four decent skins, actually the same skin but 4 different facial hair including shaved and a good normal shape. I'd be happy to model, just IM me in SL. My skin is similar to the stolen one, but mine are bought.

Sophisticated Model Agency has some male models who could help you, though it sounds like I am a little late with the suggestion.

As for 'paying' models... I'm not looking for 3 hours of photo shoots...what I need takes all of 60 seconds...and the models get a free shape out of it, to do what ever they want with (modifiable). I simply don't have the L's to buy a variety of male skin to pose my new shapes in.... So, this has actually worked out great and it gives me a chance to see how my shapes will look when used in combination with different skin/hair/eyes. (and a model, by definition is used because of the look they already have...I guess I should have said I need male 'volunteers' to wear my shapes for pics, my bad)

I agree, a person who gets a stolen skin in a free pack has not done anything wrong. To pass it on for free makes the thiefs that sell stolen skin loose a customer, right? I actually meet a designer, and i was wearing a skin that was stolen from her....!!! But she was very nice and she sold the old skin and eyes so cheap that i bought another skin and a pair of eyes from her.
