There are many better deals out there (including my own, but I'm not going to advertise in this forum).

Problem?
06-05-2008 01:11
Sorry you both seem to feel that way. But Stoo, by posting that comment you did advertise here, that's pretty obvious. I think that ratehr than bash mine, you would just post your site and deals as well. However, a seemingly good deal is not always a good deal, there is a lot to be said about service and integrity.
I've had my estates in SL since 06 and some residents are still there. I think that says something about quality. Sure a Yugo is cheap, but I prefer BMW myself, just my preference. This is a forum for resident web sites. My web site is about land, what's the problem there?
BTW, thanks for the bump.

Seriously...
06-08-2008 01:07
Sorry I have some bitter posts to reply to, but I feel I should clarify my position:
Stoo, Josue, post your better deal, lets break it down and see if it really is better. An argument without proof is no argument... is it? I assume you have written term papers or at least elementary school essays with the required citations before. Or, am I assuming too much about your education?
Again, this is a forum about my web site. My web site is about SL real estate.
I get the feeling there are some angry posts from people who use come-ons like L$35,000 down, then slap you with the first month's tier. $275 down and first month's tier included, or L$35,000 ($132 USD) and $100 tier... what's the difference?
Or maybe they sell for too little to ensure their survival in the real estate business for long. Where as I have been around since 06, still with some original and very satisfied residents who happily pay a few extra dollars (literally) to insure their investment.
I welcome anyone to visit my estates and talk to my residents. I think the proof is evident in their opinions.
Futhermore, I believe bashing is against the guidlines, but I do welcome a rational argument with the proper figures and reasons to back it up.
Thank you for reading my posts. Don't get taken, buy smart, from an ethical developer.

To all those of the simple minded !!! As a patron of the Island...I tell you this... not only is this one of the better properties I've have owned but there is a lot to be said about the man that runs all 4 sims. At any givin time he makes himself available and his intrest in the enjoyment of your time there is his ultimate goal. (something you all lack) On top of that the many people here all want the same thing and thats to enjoy our investments and our neighbors. Slippery's dedication to making sure every problem is addressed immediately and his customer service to his patrons is unmatched!!! Eat you hearts out people cause he is the real deal !!!! You cant bring him down to your level, wont happen !! To you Slip - Riley and I thank you for all the great times and laughter and most of all a great place to be on SL - You Rock !!! Funny seeing alts post, anyways you should really stick to this section. /114/1.htmlThe resident-run websites section isn't supposed to be for this. Also these are Light-Use Openspaces not full-sims. A little tid-bit from the SL Support portal on informations about Openspaces and why advertising them as sims is incorrect: ====== ----------- https://support.secondlife.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=4417&task=knowledge&questionID=4235What are Openspaces and what do they cost? For those estate owners wishing to provide empty areas such as water, hills and forest -- we offer Openspaces, light use regions sometimes referred to as voids. Openspaces can be bought singly, for a setup fee of USD$250, followed by a monthly fee of USD$75 per month. An existing region can also be converted into four Openspaces, although you cannot convert your last remaining region; you must own a private region to be able to own an Openspace. Each of the four is limited to only 3750 prims. Why are they "light use"? Whereas normal estates run on their own dedicated CPU, the Openspace regions run four per CPU; this limits their performance, as you would expect. Openspaces only ever share with other Openspaces on a server. It is therefore important to understand what these regions are. They are provided for light use only, not for building, living in, renting as homes or use for events. As a stretch of open water for boating or a scenic wooded area they are fine, but we do not advise more serious use than this and will not respond to performance issues reported should you not use them in this way. ------- ==== This is not intended to "bash" however I do believe it incorrect to be on the resident-run website forums advertising land sales, and advertising openspaces as full sims hence the title "Private Sims $275 Down"

Re Alts Posting:
I have no idea who you're refering to, but Dutch and Quill are residents on one of my estates and I'm sure they would be happy to stand next to me, in SL, with all of us in voice at the same time, and prove they are not alts of anyone posting here.
Re The Title:
This post was not meant to be deceptive by any means and I probably should have thought about the title more before posting. Assuming people know that a regular sim for that price in unreasonable was an oversight by me. However, in my own defense, an open space sim is still a sim, but I will clarify in the future.
My apolagies for any inconvenience this may have caused anyone.
To Further Define Things:
These sims are a cost effective and very attractive alternative for people with lots in the neighborhood of 1/4 sim. They are offered to people the same as any other reseller's land deal. What it does is give you the oportunity to do, is own land without making an investment that is not viable for the average user's purposes within a reasonable budget.
NOTE **YOU MUST OWN A FULL SIM FROM LL's TO BE ABLE TO PURCHASE OPEN SPACES**
The reseller system circumnavigates this limitation for buyers for whom it is suitable and this is exactly what it was designed to do in any business situation. It's volume pricing.

From: Slippery Enzyme In my experience they make a great starter sim for a club, which is why you inquired. I have clubs running on some of my private open space estates and clients are very pleased with the performance, as I explained and I even gave you numbers of avi's on the sim's I've visited during peak operation. I resell OpenSpace sims myself but I only recoment them for residential use, they simply don't have the script preformance to handle a full blown club or mall at least not without making 3 other openspace sims unusable, offcourse if you want to encurage people to hinder others go right ahead but at least tell them they are sharing the resources with 3 other openspace sims. For those wanting to compare, my prices for openspace sims are 255 us$ down and 80 us$/month and first month tier included with the upfront price just like LL does it. Linden Lab prices are 250 us$ down and 75 us$/month first month tier included with upfront price. One more note, the resell option does not put the sim itself in your name but can give you full estate rights by adding your name as estate manager, this is a Linden Lab limitation, not only can't you buy a OpenSpace sim without owning a full sim, you also can't have one in your name.

Since you saw the need to post in my hot topic thread, tell me Abigail; Do you also accept tier in linden dollars? I'm just wondering how you can make $5 on a sim sale with the Lindex charge of around $1 to cash out and PayPal charging anotehr $1.50 or so for processing and make that work. It seems to me that with $2.50 profit up front and again each month that you would get awfully impatient with the entire thing, especially after paying income tax, assuming you're honest and do pay that. Lets forget the tax, since I have no idea what bracket you're in, or even if you're from the US. But, at $2.50 gross profit per sim, that means you need 30 sims to gorss $75. Since one sim costs that in tier, what happens if one out of 10 buyers payments fail? That's not unusual in business. Some business loose 25% of payments when dealing with a borad consumer base. That leaves you having to pay $220.00 in tier, and for someone who doesn't seem to make very much from it all, good luck not going belly up at the first bail out. Furthermore, since those sims are already paid for by the customer, I'd say you have no real reason to risk it happening again. That is no kind of insurance for the buyer... not in my book. I have been in the land business in SL since 06, I've seen more people than you can imagine just abandon their sims. All mine are still up and being added to regularly, but I still don't walk away with a fortune.

First of all, Abigail, I do tell people they run on a server with 4 other open space sims, along with all the details. It is my policy to do so. Secondly, considering the new Mono script engine is literally 400 times faster than the previous engine and sims run on quad core processors and comes with the same default agent (avatar) limit as a full sim, I think your claim of severe limitations is a bit of a deflated argument and your research is not up to snuff. Add to this the new Havoc 4 engine and it just looks worse for you hon. Anyway, thanks for trying to latch on to my success and make me look bad in the process, but its not working. lol

Mone is still a long way off and havoc 4 mainly improves stabilety but does nothing for stopping degration of the other regions sharing the same core, sure the default avatar limit is the same but does that mean magicly one core can handle 4 times the avatars on openspace sims then one full sim can? Offcourse not, openspace sims are only capable of 1/4 of that of a full sim without degrading the other 3 sharing the same core. From: someone Anyway, thanks for trying to latch on to my success and make me look bad in the process, but its not working. lol
I don't need to make you look bad or latch on your success, I have been managing sims for nearly a year without the need to make money off it, I only want to offer a service as a hobby and make enough to pay my expences. As a responce to your other post where you close to acusing me of tax evation. 1) I don't cash out of SL because it is a hobby project. 2) If you even bothered to check the advertisement section where your first post should have been you would have seen that I do accept L$ payment. 3) Being Dutch I am VAT registered as small busseniss and as such all my taxes are checked and accounted for as required by law. (btw before you think you can claim tier and setup costs me 19% more then you, you're wrong, VAT registration alows LL to not charge me VAT) 4) The risk of going belly up, I already make enough on my regular sims to cover the risk of a costumer bailing out and because I don't cash out that reserve only keeps growing. My advise, chill for a second and realise that my first post where you felt the need to attack me not once but twice on, is a simple explanation of technical facts that somehow got omited in this treath. Offcourse if I was in it for the money I would be upset too with those undercutting my prices by those that are not in it for the money, not saying that is the reason you seem upset or even that you are in it for the money.

In the absence of any way to slap the OP for being obnoxious (and yes this is screamingly an alt of someone here - note to OP, you can change your name but your wording style and argumentation give you away dearheart - and flame replies from you will be totally ignored even if you start claiming the right to smoke a peace pipe). SIMPLE. Don't pay the troll. Sure we're bumping the thread for her, this is her tactic, to inflame people so her posts stay high. There are better deals out there from people who are more scrupulous. If any of your friends are talking Open Sim then let them know to stay away from people like this BUMP!!! BUMP!!! /me flips the button on this bozo since there will never be anything said that I'll give even one iota about reading
