OMG I can't believe you don't know. As there are money trees for newbies in SL so LL have shrubs from which they pluck thousands of L$ with which to pay stipends, otherwise known as hedge-mony :D

Well, I suppose they could've made a thread about someone else's website, libel them by accusing them of outing alts, using "IPS" numbers to track people down in RL, etc., etc., - and that would have been okay. You would just look the other way... Oh wait! IF the thread starter was in YOUR clique. Can't forget that part...
