One thing that I've noticed in both threads where Kevn tries to promote creationism (and then changes it to intelligent design when people point out that he's trying to shove the bible in people's faces) is that every time people point out that people used to think that the earth was flat, and they were found to be wrong, and a whole bunch of other myths that people have been proven wrong in, he completely ignores the posts.

Most people reject evolution. When I say evolution I mean the kind that starts with a single celled creature and over time transforms into a fish, then a frog, then a bird or snake etc etc. Who are these 'most people' you speak of? Most ... no, let me rephrase that, ALL of the people I know, except maybe one guy at work, believe in evolution. think most people agree with adaptation. We can see it happening. There is loads of evidence for it. But there is no evidence to support the notion life as we know it arose from lowly single cell creatures. Correction! There's no evidence that you will accept. HUGE difference. If life did arise without a creator, it would need to come into existence with the ability to eat, remove waste, process food, grow, and reproduce. That would be a much bigger miracle than having a creator make it. Only because you refuse to accept it. The next step is how life began from non-living matter when biogenesis (scientific fact) says all life comes from existing life. We all know the theory of abiogenesis (the unsupported theory that life came from non-living material) strikes in the face of science, yet people who reject the notion of a creator must assume this is how life began. Actually I find it quite pleasant to think that life can spring from lifelessness without the need a divine intervention. I see it as a natural progression of things like crystals growing. Their beliefs cause them to close their eyes to science when it shows their beliefs to be wrong. So in a way, one could say people on both sides of the issue depend on their beliefs to guide them through science. Except of course for the fact that science is ever changing and growing as our knowledge grows, while religion is unchanging. _____________________
