They will make good conductors for the electrochromatobeams needed to bring the light out of the meeting tent and onto the earth where it shall scour the land of its moisture and feed the depths of the dark brine that has hungered for this day for millenia.

Uh, okay. Either that or they're just Romulans in disguise. They're sneaky bastards, but that green blood's a dead giveaway every time.

Close. It's trying to get bait off the end of a line which ended up snagging it and ripping off one of its tentacles. Pretty much the way I figure our first encounter with extraterrestrial life will go :p

<Grapples with mental image of extraterrestrials to large to fully see floating in the sky and dangling hooks baited with fancy cars, internet refrigerators, and Tayto crisps.>

Yup. I'd lose an arm going after the crisps for sure.

How do you know it won't be the more advanced lifeforms going after OUR shiny bait?

Ooh... shiny.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned that an octopus can beat the snot out of a shark.

Actually, I thought that scenario more likely, but less amusing :o

Besides, I'm not giving up anything shiny for bait...

That shark was only 3-4 feet long, but still... that was amazing.
