Too bad if the moron who made that had actually "listened to the words" at the right time they would have realized that "WMD" was only one of multiple reasons mentioned in speeches before the war. I guess they're just "one of the stupid, scared masses" that only heard the one reason, too. Oh well.

Nah, not gonna describe the 5 reasons again, sorry all. Juro got some of them, although the terrorist one is looking weak unless you count Hamas, if I remember correctly. (Also I don't think Saudi's negative points come anywhere close to what was going on in Iraq.)

Everyone comes across so hostile. I'm just stating a fact--more than one reason was given, yet only one is ever focused on. Take it however you want, I don't care if it looks like I'm defending Bush and his risky decisions.

The funny thing is that, in hindsight, I think the Iraq invasion was probably a mistake. The only way I see Iraq not being a mistake at this point depends on the long term effects, which we won't know until years from now.

Oh I think we can arrive at a very good guess at this point. No doubt it will become 3 seperate countries, all of them hotbeds for future terrorists born of our aggression and funded by Iran.

Basically Juro, yes, the focus shifted after new information was revealed...as it should. But that doesn't equate with a "lie" (a nice twist people like to use) unless it was known that the information was incorrect to begin with. One of the primary focuses now is to promote democracy and freedom in the region (which was one of the original goals to begin with); eventually, so the theory goes, the region will change for the better.

Kendra you may be right, but you could just as easily be 100% wrong. The last poll of Iraqi's that I've seen said that something like half of the population (most not Sunni, not surprisingly) thought the invasion was the right decision. Even if that's only partially true, it's interesting isn't it. And it wasn't some stupid "Fox" poll crap but a neutral source, wish I could remember which. If you look more closely than the worthless daily headlines and soundbites that are out there on moveon.org, you'd see that the situation is much more of a mixed bag than anti-war activists portray it, and it could still go either way.

You're euphemistically labeling "facts" as "focus". Indeed the president presented what he called "facts" that were later refuted. Worse than that, they were proven to be fabricated and individuals who tried to make this fabrication public were retaliated against. You and everyone else know exactly what I'm talking about.

You're either a simple-minded fool for failing to see the obvious attempts at deception or a disingenuous and unethical conservative apologist. Either way the country would be better off without you.

Okay so you want to talk about facts instead of "the focus". It still doesn't change the point. If you discover new facts that disprove what you previously believed were facts, logically you start talking about the remaining facts that haven't been disproven. Basically it sounds like you are saying that the president lied because he didn't come out and say that he was given bad intelligence; Instead he did what any politician would do and started talking about the other facts that are still relevant. That's not a lie unless you can prove that he knew some fact was false. A two year old can figure this out. This isn't even worth arguing about.

Oh, and this is a GEM. "The country would be better off without you!" Nah nah nah nah nah! Grow up. This forum would be better off without your stupid personal attacks. Just because I don't believe that there is a massive cover up in the government, now the country is better off without me. Never mind that there hasn't been conclusive and credible proof yet, otherwise the country wouldn't be split down the middle in polls on that issue, we would have Nixon part II going on now. I can see the accusations that half of the nation are "sheep" already.
