A song I've been working on, a kind of metal-themed thing.
Welcome to the future friends, you've got a danger here,
and we all have to make sacrifices, to make the danger clear,
where the danger comes from, we can't quite be sure,
but we can tell you everyone, that you're not secure,
Can't you hear the scary things, that go bump in the night,
won't you give us a bit more power, so we can join the fight?
For the greater good, we take away your freedom,
For the greater good, you sacrifice what you can,
for the greater good, so we can beat them,
for the greater good of man...
Don't worry about the power that we hold,
or what the future, still might unfold,
without your freedom, for security,
we will make you realize, you don't need to be free.
Ignore those stories coming from the next town,
it's just our enemies trying to make you frown,
For the greater good, we're removing from the masses,
For the greater good, those who plan,
for the greater good, we're controlling what passes,
All for, the Greater Good of man.
Now how much more secure becomes your life,
enjoy your computer-picked wife,
We'll defend you from the things you can't see,
and tell you just where they were, and what they might be,
Can't you hear the drumming as the enemies approach,
give us more power, before they more encroach,
for the greater good, we watch all things,
for the greater good, we're taking all we can,
for the greater good, we're fighting what life brings,
All for, the greater good of man....
You've signed away your rights,
and brought greater things into our sight,
Our people the government, now truly serve,
and we'll call this freedom, as you might observe.
We're the ones who give you the right,
and the ones to squash you if you fight,
How dare you speak of freedom,
you've signed away your rights for security...
We've got all in this kingdom,
now who's going to protect you all from me?
For the greater good, I killed your father,
for the greater good, you'll hear us always cry,
for the greater good, I killed your brother,
now for the greater good you too must die.
