My opinion is LL is closing the forums because only about 10 actual people post to them. All the rest are alts of the 10.
Why spend so much resources on 10 people, some of whom are basic users.
We can guess who had the most alts, and blame them. Then we can have an in-world trial, and hanging. It should be fun. Bring your pitchfork and torches, don't be late!
