Behold, the My Scene Bling Bling Barbie Doll, by Mattel. Alas, this is not even a parody, but a real product, which is scarier. What did they do to her head, it is freakishly large.

LOL thank you, I think. I've always found you a bit scary myself.

That Barbie looks like a composite Bratz derivative.

For shame.

I'm more worried over what she is wearing than the freakish head. This little "LA Hooker" doll is being given to girls three years and older all over the world this year!

I wonder what those girls will grow up to be like, hmmm ... (ponders)

:)

I was going to say this too. Head to clothes, it seems to me meant to compete with Bratz. I would be willing to venture a guess that the clothes will fit either as well. Bratz are hugely popular and likely were cutting into Mattel profits. Bratz even have kid Bratz now that would be the Kelly counterpart. I never understood the appeal of Bratz (or Barbie for that matter) but then again, Im not 9.

Yes, Mattel came out with the My Scene line of Barbies to compete with the Bratz/Bratz Lookalikes.

I thought they were kind of cute and a neat diversion from the usual debutante Barbie. However.. to see them officially use the "bling" term is sad...

I'd like to take this time to remind all of the Blingheads out there of the one true father of Bling, the one, the only - Liberace! ;)

Is it me or were these two separated at birth?

Liberace (thank you Juro):

Nawww - Richard is far too reserved. They might be closeted lovers. ;)

Bratz just scare my tween daughter. She has Barbie "classic" but she's done with it now. Totally into Sims2. (laughing)

I'm 90% sure My Scene came out before Bratz

However, My Scene has admittedly gotten more blingy over the past year.

Perhaps that is the purpose, to dircectly adapt My Scene to their scene.

That said, I'm till waiting for an I'm Scene Barbie >=D
"Omigosh, bro... did you catch Falling Waters of Death's Boned Hand at the Crying for Tragic Sanity Lost show last weekend? It was so core. We were gunna drink some zima and jack, but my gf's ex gf's cousin who gave us a ride in his Saturn-- rember the guy who we lsitened to the Seeping Songs of Shattered Depth album on his changer... yeah he's straight-edge so we couldn't get a ride to the party, but we shared a cigarrette and rocked to STELDIIWFFJ afterward. Their annogram is so hXc, bro."

When I saw this the other day, I searched for "bling barbie" and found the "Ideal Woman" thread that mentioned both concepts, just not together. So I had to decide whether to put it there, or start a new thread. Being the good forum citizen that I am (see above comment about searching before posting), I decided to put it there.

my post

Now Cris gets all the kudos.

Hey. I didn't want to say before, but I AM THE BLING BARBIE! Mattel contacted me months ago and had me send a bunch of pics of my avatar, and well....there we have it! *places tongue firmly in cheek*

*actually wears very little jewelry in SL and none of it blings*

Her breasts are not nearly big enough to be a stock SL club bimbo. They need to be at least twice as big as her head to qualify.
