I'd be for it, but only under the following situation:
There's a building somewhere where you go to get your junk. You can't leave while you're on it. You can't take it with you. You have to stay there, and do it in a nice little controlled environment. This way, the idiots can peacefully ruin their lives, without screwing up other aspects of society. |

I think all drugs should be legal, even the worst of the worst. If we took all the money we spend on the drug war, and all the money we spend keeping such a horrific percentage of our population in jail, and put all of it in to education and social programs, we would end up with less addicts than we have now.

It should be legal to use but not legal to sell.
I really don't want to see smack be the new tobacco, or worse, a combo: Marlboro Heroin lights (you know it'd hit the shelves first thing). Individuals have accountability, but because of the business model of corporations, corporations have none. That's why I don't think it should be legal to sell, but if people can bring it in from the outside and want to use it, then whatever. Also, once drugs are legalized, the penalty for committing a crime on drugs should be higher because we're trusting people to fuck up their own lives responsibly but if they violate that trust then they represent a greater threat and abuse of our trust. _____________________

They wouldn't be doing the work required to produce the product or the work required to earn to the money to buy the product. The war on drugs is really a war on people. Adults need no nanny state telling us what choices to make. The prisons would clear out, and crime would nearly cease without the drug element. Prices would fall allowing druggies nearly free access, no need to kill grandma for her SS check.
Making drugs harder to get only creates bigger problems. Crack was created because cocaine was too expensive. |

It all goes into the same pot. Government education programs don't work worth beans. If they did, there wouldn't be so many people who believe in astrology and there would be more grownups who can do fractions. Then we'd need to make sure that it ended up where we want it - but let's not use that as an excuse to keep them illegal. _____________________
