Oh, and a little factoid, while you're gloating about your AC - whilst around 85% of American households have AC, approximately 0.5% of households in the UK have AC. Because we just dont get this kind of weather. Well we DIDN'T until recently - but its getting there more regularly now :/ I think I will move back to my ancestral roots in Norway! lol I dont do hot..... _____________________

I have a nine-inch desk fan (£4.99 from the cheap shop), the cooling effects of which are offset by my computer turning into a little heater when I play SL.

I hate these how hot it is in the 'UK' threads. It's 21 C here in the west of Scotland and WET, I certainly never get that weather HERE in UK.

You don't even have to move out of the UK, the west of scotland isn't hot. Not that the London based media notices. The Pacific Northwest is like that too... You hear all about how the ENTIRE US is broiling, but it's not. There are several of us wearing jackets or light sweaters in the mornings (or even all day). At least it's not raining  I've actually heard a weather report that it's going to be "hot" here this weekend - 80! _____________________

The heat index here has been around 100 for the past week. Yesterday I got my broken down 20 year old heat pump replaced with a brand spankin' new system, all for the low low price of $5400 (ouch). Now it's a lovely 75 degrees in my house and last night I didn't have to sleep in the jumping jack position to keep my body parts from sticking together. Woot!

It was 106 F here yesterday (112 index), and I started wondering what the local record was. Turns out the record is 110 deg. F., set in 1934. So poo on global warming, it's just f-ing hot!
