Is this your way of telling me you dont like my forum thread Hiro? I consider this strong arming those with whom your opinons differ. There was no need for your thread it has no discussion points, it's realy unnecessary. Especialy since you could of posted to my thread that you didn't care for the topic. Which you didn't do.

This is a prime example of the fourms and why real discussions cannot take place.

Lighten up, Martin. Parody is an integral part of these forums, providing much needed levity. We can't be slaves to the drama 24/7, you know. :D

Stephen Hawking might draw a comparison between black holes and orifices in a piece of swiss cheese, but I will not.

No I wasn't aware of that fact. I thought off topic was for the jokes and such.

Thanks, Ulrika. :)

...

Martin, if you have not seen it yet, please understand that there is an unspoken forum rule that if there are enough posts in the forum near the top with the same title, it requires someone to immediately parody them. The most recent examply before this was the furry thread - where you had the "free accounts lead to more furries" thread, another similar one, and then "free accounts lead to more humanoids" ...

Oh, it is. And I fully expect this post to be moved. However, it's not funny if it's not posted where the other threads are.

No, this is a prime example of someone who wants attention, and will be childish in seeking it. Don't sweat it.

A real discussion seems to be going on in your thread. Your presense here may well be the factor which keeps the forum focused here as the other thread sinks. If you can't resist it, why expect anyone else to?

And this is an example of name-calling.

Jeez, are people not allowed to make goof posts?

I agree.

No whining about people goofing off a little bit harmlessly.

I agree with Martin. The practice of making fun of someone's thread by posting one with a similar but silly title isn't so much parody to me (particularly since it requres zero wit to rewrite a thread title) as it is singleing out the original poster himself and belittling that poster. I've seen it happen too many times, not just here.

If we're going to have that sort of thing, then yes, I think it should be in off-topic.

I think there should be a scientific study that looks into the link of those who like cheese, and those who like to post in the Second Life forums. We may then be able to know that it is appropriate to ask all our friends if they like cheese. If they like cheese, I have a hunch they'll like the forums.
