Additionally, it has never been against the law to use an alias unless your intention was to commit fraud. I can call myself Surreal Farber in RL if I choose to. As far as this poorly thought out new law... someone will challenge it and the courts will decide.

It looks, from the links in the article, like there are solid precedents saying that (a) being "annoying" does not invalidate the First Amendment and (b) there is no requirement not to be anonymous to exercise First Amendment rights.

Besides, my RL name (1st and last as a combo) is really really common! Last time I counted, 36 in my city alone!

I have many online names, but Madame Maracas is prolly the one that matters most.

I've been Asandra, Asandra Luchador, Bibi Bukowski, Curadora Demisamigos, Schneeblah Kneedorf, Asesina, Matadora, Khlor, Khlor2001, Khl0r, webmistressjulia, and I dunno what else, oh oh waaay back when, Robocop and Wombat, but those are really pre-internet.

And if you wanna go further back, Dirty Sneaker, but sheesh that's my old CB handle.

I've had other nicks but we're not going into that here. Nu uh. Nice try!
