Actually, I'd like to change my suggestion to "Kip Winger".

Nice one.

That morning, 74 years old and 10 stories up,
midway between hotel and hotel, a promotional stunt
on the first day of spring, that wind
which has been everywhere with you
comes in from the Caribbean to throw itself
once and for all into your arms, like a young lover!
Your hair stands on end.
You try to crouch, to reach for the wire.
Later, men come to clean up
and take down the wire. They take down the wire
where you spent your life. Imagine that: wire.

Dunno, it probably wouldnt be a problem if it wasn't for the coca plant, it makes such a mess for us all. :)

Wow.
I hardly ever meeet anyone who would even know who the Wallendas were, let alone a Raymond Carver poem about *that* particular day.
Thanks for posting that. :)

Wonderful! A spider named after me!

I named myself three years ago, for TSO. I was trying to spell Coconut and spelled it Cocoanut. But then later on I made it a point to look up the spelling of the word, and both spellings are acceptable.

Works for me, cause it is like, "Coco, a nut."

coco

P.S. Hope she returns.

It wouldn't be such a problem if those damn Europeans could pronounce "cacao" when they decided to start trading it. :P

Coca ::sniff sniff::?

I had an odd experience the day before yesterday.

I was cleaning up this room, something that has been overdue for a long time, which involved taking down the curtains, etc. I decided to have a break, and sat down at the computer. I felt something inside my left nostril, and assumed I had accidentally inhaled a bit of fluff or something. Put up my fingers to pull it out, whereupon it turned out to be a large spider, which fell on my desk and hurriedly made its escape.

Never had a spider up my nose before.
