This actually happens to me all the time (save for a few occasions) whenever I actually post anything of importance. I think most people see me as this happy go lucky without a care type person, and so when I do post something that I feel is contributing, it confuses people.   I find you to be a consistent contributor though. You are often the first to respond and help out newbies who have silly questions, and don't seem to have a giant ego that gets in the way like some of us do. _____________________

The peace of being generally unknown on these forums is pleasant. I seek to offend no one, and it would be personal failure if I allowed anyone on a forum to offend me.
Thus I am perfectly comfortable. I am far more shy on the grid. The economic and scientific discussions found here are darkly fascinating. Daresay I even enjoy some of the political discussion, though I have no comments of my own. It is interesting to observe how various individuals correctly spot certain trends and use them to advantage over time - much to their credit. It will be even more interesting to see who will sell the lemonade made from this week's lemons. |

I see myself as a fairly regular poster - known to a few in-world - with a lot of experience on Usenet keeping me largely out of trouble. I haven't a clue how other people see me. |

I like being here to learn things, explain things, and to help people get connected—future friendships!—so we can have more kewl things in SL. I like bringing helpful things to my fellow Residents's attentions to fill holes in their Second Lives (i.e. someone looking for something, someone else) so that maybe things are a little wholer, a little more complete... happier. I'm all for support and guidance.
There's more to that too, but it's some of it. _____________________

Folks give me far too much credit, I think. Calm, sometimes. Reasonable, not likely--no one can see my rabid-dog foaming mouth or the froth that covers my monitor and keyboard. As far as edumacation, I firmly believe that formal education is no indication of one's intelligence or one's status as an intellectual. In fact, formal education is often a hinderance to true intellectualism. So, there. _____________________
