I don't want to slap the guy, though I really have to wonder why homosexuality seems to worry Christians so much (considering that Jesus didn't say anything about it, really). thats people trying to use christianity to stop it not the actual religion. I am a christian and have a rather extreme concept for gay marriage. I want to remove the term marriage from government all together, its too bound to religion. I would rather see civil union used for all types of pairings instead.

Personally I'd just hug the guy. The only reason I ever have to take issue with other people's beliefs (outside of a debate where we're stating individual ones and why we don't share some of them) is when they're imposed on me by people with a lack of appreciation for a pluralistic ideal. If I'm equally free to live according to my beliefs as someone with a different belief I'll happily go back to celebrating diversity. That's much better than being under the thumb of people who'd rather stamp it out.
