I truly enjoy hating Republicans. I think it I put a little effort into it (effort is hard for us liberal hippies) I could even turn it into a hobby.

This is why it annoys me so much when i come across a Republican that I actually like.

Today's Republican that I like is...

Ben Stein

It's not hard. "Republican" and "Democrat" are merely labels of sides; it is far more informative to look at the actual person.

I mean, hell, if the Republicans still had a sizable "fiscally conservative, social issues are none of our business" faction, I think I could damn near be described as one at times. Still, BOTH American political parties are all about some form of control nowadays, so I've not much use for either.

I'm split between the fascist party and the green party. They're the only ones who haven't been universal dipwads in my immediate vicinity this year.

Give them time, they don't have the funding the big dogs have. ;)

check out the Libertarian Party then.... we know how things should be run, but most people are like... who? what do you mean there is more than Democrat, Republican, and independant? But hell, the republicans and democrats work VERY WELL together when it comes to making sure they are the only 2 parties with any power, and i think they are both equally as bad.

Sorry to derail into mild seriousness, but isn't it possible that you are painting with too broad a brush? Or making a false dichotomy, or closing the barn door after the horses are out, or counting your chickens before they hatch, or some other metaphory thing?

With so many aspects that people can vary in, isn't lumping them into Group A (who I dig) and Group B (whom I don't) a little over-simplified?

I have no idea at all whether Beck Hanson is an A or B or neither, but I sure do admire him.

I remember that last time someone accused me of being nice.

I beat the shit out of them with a crowbar and then pissed on their face.

Oh and I hate people for a lot more than that. Hating people for what they believe in is just one of many.

I try not to limit myself.

There are even people that I pre-hate. You know when you are at a party and you see someone from across the room with really bad hair or an annoying laugh. You know when you finally meet them that you are going to hate them, so it helps save time if you just start pre-hating them.

Yes, there are religious people I hate. Quite a few actually.

Clever? Oh, I see, you're really positive that you can't possibly be a bigot, right? Uh oh, seems like you're wrong about that one, too.

No, I'm not being clever. You're a bigot.
