It's daytime in the States. Throughout the year, teens are in school. During the summer, they sleep all day after playing on the adult grid all night.

They are rather nocturnal by nature, you know; teens that is. Some districts are reconsidering the typical time schedule since early morning classes find them at their least alert state.

Our district did just that a few years ago. The elementary school kids start arount 7:45 to 8 and the older kids start between 8:30 and 9:30.

Which means, the best time for us adults to be on the main grid now are between the hours of 8:30 to 2:30 or thereabouts. This would be EST for me, your optimum time to share the grid with adults may be different.

If the teen in question is 18 or older, I don't mind at all. Younger than that, I have a problem with since it's againt the TOS.

I don't log into SL to babysit other people's kids.

that is one of the msot ignorant things I have ever heard in my life. It is very easy to find a 40 year old thata cts like a 4 year old kid, and easy to fidna 14 year old that acts 32. I honestly don't see the problem with them.
