GeForce 6800 sees water waves?

Please Can someone with a GeForce 6800 series card be so kind as to post whether Second Life wave action is visible to you?

My GeForce FX series cards do not allow me to see water waves. This is a known problem with LindenLab, handled in multiple alternate threads. Please do not respond to that issue here. My GeForce4 Ti4800SE sees water just fine, but performs understandably worse than FX cards in all other aspects.

I was thinking of a 6800 GT, but won't spend $300 on a card that won't give me waves. Wave action is very imporant to me.

all cards with shader engines can support the waves... that said you have to rememebr they are a client side function and have no bearing on what everyone else in the game sees, nor do they effect anything other than yer view (all cards with shader engines being pretty much anything costin more'n $50 these days)

This turns out not to be the case. Become informed:

Right, ripple doesn't work correctly on the FX cards.

So does anyone with a 6800 know if this FX bug is fixed?

I was going to offer a correction regarding shaders, but it appears that Schoen already has. :)

Let's settle for a bumpity. I also want to know if a GeForce 6800 sees the ripple water effects.
