Yah know.. im al for magic. But when it start to mess with my financial state.. in a bad way.. i get angry. I was in the middle of an event last night when i had computer problems and my computer shut off. When i was finnaly able to log back onto SL. i found out that my money had gone
I had 3k when i left(pluss some hundreds), but when i came back i only had 1k( plus some hundreds)

And i do not get payed until Wed so it could not have been taxes, im sure my stipend (which is the same as my taxes) always takes care of that since i havent been geting payed lately. But that is not the point. The point is i lost 2k(plus some change) for no reason at all. A sreen came up saying my next pay day was not far (screen comes up during drastc changes in ur pay if ur offline) and it came up. Now i dont know what it was but i just want my money back i need it to finish building. I have managed to keep a steady income w/ or w/o my stipend and this could ruin me. so please..Where did my money go?!:( :( :( :(

I thought it was just me. I was standing talking with a friend last night, and heard the money sound. Foolishly thinking I had made a sale, I looked down and saw I had just lost $2,000. I know the exact amount because just before starting the conversation I had written down my balance in preparation for my payday last night. Since you don't get any kind of recorded transaction when you lose money, there's no way to tell why you lose money or to whom.

Anybody lose $2,000 last night? Any explanation from Linden about these losses last night?

Thanks,
Candie

I think stipend/tax was under maintenance wednesday and ppl didnt get their stipends or taxes. I think they fixed it, and people eiather lost money (due to taxes) or got their normal stipends. Look under the announcements forum.

I lost money last night too for no apparent reason. It was payday for me but looking at my summary I wasnt in the negative so I should not have lost money. Whats the deal?

Chris, I deleted more land than I bought, and I most definitely wasn't $2k in the hole. It would be odd for multiple people to lose exactly the same even amount I think. Also, that program is run after hours. Although I suppose someone may have inadvertently kicked it off early.

Mis, was it $2k that you lost?

Honestly I dont know exactly but I know it was at least 1k.. I was at my store and people were buying at the time so the figure wasnt as clear cut to me. I just know at that moment my money should have gone up but then when I glanced down it was a lower figure then when I had noticed it a little earlier (and I had made no purchases nor had I rez'd anything).

OK, this was all stipend/taxes. Vershean, your tax/stipend day is Friday, not Wednesday - I have logs of you being paid on the 23rd and 30th. It may have shifted due to one of our stipend fumbles in the past weeks.

Now, it happened at an unusual time yesterday because we fixed a bug in the stipend software that had crashed it on Thursday night, and wanted to pay out everyone who'd missed their stipends immediately. This was a mistake - the darn thing picked up all the friday people early, and it gave out about half the bonuses it was supposed to, which is why alot of people lost money.

I don't actually know why the bonuses were lower because of this. I apologize, and I'll continue to investigate what went wrong. At the very least this bizarre occurence won't be repeated.

Hmm... I've had a similar problem. Last night was my stipend / tax night but I think I ended up with about $2000 less than anticipated (according to the estimates in my account history the day before). My stipend + bonus did not cover my taxes as I thought it would... so I ended up with less money than before.

I have recieved donations from friends to keep me afloat but the -2000 still remains part of my account problem. I would like to see this worked out or an explaination of what happened to my SL account. If it weren't for the donations I have recieved I would not been able to build even a box. I see others accounts have been fixed just wondering if mine will be soon. thanks for looking into this.

Your tax load on Saturday morning was $5,251, you had a balance of $1,139, and a low stipend of $2,222, so you ended up running into the -1000 limit.

Saturday afternoon you were given a "Linden Adjustment" of $1,621, which brought you back into the black. This was compensation for the incorrect stipend.

Now, looking back a few weeks it looks like you've never had a stipend large enough to cover this much tax anyway, so uless you delete some of your stuff, you're probably headed back into the red next time you pay taxes. You could reduce your taxes alot by cutting back on the lights.
