Running XP Pro. Every time I try to start the SecondLife client, I hear that woman talking...the green loading bar makes it almost all the way to the right...and then BOOM. "Newview has encountered a problem and needs to close" pops up in a window. I never see anything else on the screen.

Me too man. Running XP home edition. I can login with Win 98 SE on an older (and slower) machine. Might be XP related.

Hmm... If you could send a bug report to support@lindenlab.com (as described in the following link), I should be able to take a quick look at the problem.

newview error

I have an error with newview too. I'm running XP Pro, and after I've been in SecondLife for around 5 mins, something pops up that says something about a runtime error with the c++ coding or something. Very bad

Same problem here. It randomly warps me to a weird place above the world then it tells me newview has an error and something about C++. Ill try to get more info next time.
