Installation problems with RC Viewer 1.22.10

Hello all. I don't know if anyone else is having this problem and I'm not too sure what I can do about it, but I've been having it ever since the RC Viewer update to 1.22.10.

I downloaded the update as it was a required update (meaning it forced me to download it) and when I run the install, the installation process will stop at the following message:

Error opening file for writing:

C:\ProgramFiles\SecondLifeReleaseCandidate\app_settings\mozilla\components\xulutil.dll

Click Abort to stop the installation,
Retry to try again, or
Ignore to skip this file.

Now, I tried clicking on Ignore, but when I do that I get assaulted by a ton more errors for different files, all saying the same thing: Abore, Retry or Ignore.

So I tried Ignoring all of them, and let the installation finish. Second Life started up normally after that and I didn't seem to have any adverse effects. However, now when I try to log in to SL using the Release Candidate viewer, it'll tell me I need to download the update to 1.22.10 again. I let it download, and then go to let it install, and it will tell me that version 1.22.10 is already installed. If I click Cancel and try to start SL again, it'll let me login and then tell me once more that I need to download the update. If I tell it to install the update anyway, then it'll go through the installation process until it gets to the error I mentioned above.

If anyone's got some pointers out there about how to solve this, I'd surely appreciate it. I'm using the RC Viewer because I prefer the little extra features it has over the standard SL viewer (which gives me odd texture rezzing errors, by the way). I'd appreciate any help that can be given over this matter. Thanks in advance.

Are you using the download page to get your update from?

The download page at secondlife.com/downloads , that is.

The new version of the Release Candidate is out now, by the way, so that's probably what you want at this point. That would be RC 1-22-11-113976 , i.e. RC 1.22.11, not 10.

At this point you might as well try the regular version 1.22 download instead of the Release Candidate.

You might check
